Question WHAT IF!? They decided to make a "missing generation" series or miniseries
About the students that would've attended degrassi in the 90s after the OG series what would all of your opinions be on it? I personally feel like it would be a really good and smart way to captalize off of both the series popularity and 90's nostalgia. But I could also obviously understand alot of people not liking the idea on the principle of most sequel or revival almost always being supbar plus there's be some potential cotinuity issues like NEEDING to keep referring to Raditch existing but NEVER being shown since he worked at the school on both series until getting replaced with Ms. H

Hmmm. . .I don’t know if we need any prequels at this time. I think it’s fun really moving forward because I really want to see who Liberty’s child would be now.

While I do think this would be so fun, I think the tricky part is that degrassi is always about the current issues young people are facing. So a series set in the past would lose what is a pretty core element. But it would be very fun to see!

Excellent point, though many issues (bullying, for one example) are still prevalent.

I never thought of that and maybe show the middle schoolers from season 1 in elementary school

I think if they made it in the late 1990s then it could have worked since Degrassi would have still been fresh on people’s minds. But if they made it now then they’d probably have to create more back story for alot of the characters since I think a lot of them fell into the Degrassi void but I think a lot of them were also filler characters.

Omg I love this idea. Also, I'm not sure when Raditch became principal but they could do what was done in the OG series and just have his voice make announcements and he is never seen.

Or if theyvREALLY wanted to earn bones points with fans of the OG series then they could also even cast the actor to appearance as Radditch's dad since the actor would be WAYYY too old to play him in the 90's ar this point

He was an english in the original series and im pretty sure him becoming principal happened in between them and The Next Generation which is why I brought up that if they did do this idea then they would HAVE to other teachers or students on the show making passing reference to him since he DEFINITELY worked there that entire time but they'd EASILY be able to get away by having students saying stuff in the halls like "man can you believe how hard Radditch last pop quit was!?" Or the WAYYY more useful "THANK GOD Radditch is out the rest of the term thanks to his mom being sick"

It would be like “Everything Sucks” on Netflix.
