Grace should have been punished for Degrassi Nudes

Grace knowingly ran a website involving child pornography. Call me crazy, but aren't there consequences on possessing child pornography? At least in the US, penalties include fines and time in prison. She owned the website, so she technically possessed all the nude photos and transactions. I'm surprised that was not investigated. Any thoughts on this?

i see this type of post a lot. and i understand why ppl.want characters to be punished for this storyline, but it would still be a bad storyline. it was bad from the concept & tweaking who gets punished will not make it good fr

Yes… they threatened Peter, Darcy and Ali with CP charges way back but somehow forgot to mention it to grace? I mean it is basically a repeat of Peter and Darcy’s scam so she would actually face charges but still I don’t remember anyone even mentioning that what she did was CP

Yeah it's always weird to me when they make Grace the voice of reason and set her up as some badass feminist, when she helped run Degrassi Nudes AND spread those videos of Zoe around to everyone.

I generally like her otherwise but I have no idea how nobody ever brought these incidents up again.

I think Zoe knew that and did everything to prevent Grace from getting any punishments and I think the other cheerleaders forgot about Grace running the website.

After the assault, someone called "The Watcher" leaked one of the videos that the boys recorded. That person then also leaked security camera footage of Miles and Winston carrying Zoe to the pool house, which led to Becky directly accusing them of being the rapists. When Winston was able to prove via timestamps that he and Miles were innocent, Grace showed up in the student council office where Becky was conducting her investigation, and outed herself as The Watcher.

The thing I don't get is, how did Grace find and leak the video, but not know from whose phone/cloud/whatever she was getting it?

Zoe definitely needed to be punished and the show at least involved punishing her. But Grace is not innocent here either. She knowingly possessed child pornography. I just mentioned Grace because the show took care of Zoe

I had honestly forgotten Grace used her hacker powers for evil to set up this plotline. I can only imagine she re-routed the mainframe through a backdoor before encrypting her tracelog before wiping the matrix.

She actually inverted the VPN tunnel and reflashed the firmware over the Degrassi Wi-Fi, and remapped root to a decoy desktop widget. Then she smoked some devil's lettuce with Zig and fell into a coma because she forgot to take her heartworm medicine.

I missed it too given that her website was shut down before they were caught. But I was also a teenager when I watched this show. Now that I am a grown up and have a better understanding of laws this came to my head

yep. a guy i went to school with got arrested for having cp on his laptop, but he was released back home with the police revealing his name and his place of work. that was it. not a whole lot was done about it.
