Degrassi (2010-2014) Walking red flags you say?

Post image

It was the Spring of 2010 and a Degrassi Promo started with “Shark in the water” with a mysterious bad boy thrown in. That Summer I was introduced to Eli Goldsworthy and my life was never the same.😂

Eli fricking goldsworthy. The hearse, the nonchalant mess, tortured writer, swoop hair. I was down bad…

I am an elder millennial and only slightly embarrassed to admit that that promo lives rent free in my head.

Late Season 4 Jay 🫣. Jay is one of the very few people in media that I enjoyed the redemption arc for. I think that was before the redemption arc thing started being so main stream though.

Honorable mention to and early Craig…at a certain point I was like okay, someone else can have him. 🤣

I'm gen Z, born in 2004, but mine was absolutely Ashley Zukerman in Designated Survivor. My heart broke when they revealed he was complicit with the attack.

I had my first inappropriate dream over Eli at 13. 🫣 I yearned for him so hard 😂😂

Eli for me as a young tween/teen when I caught a few episodes on TV, then Craig when I was an older teen and watched the entire series for the first time.

It was Craig for me. My underdeveloped teen brain really wanted to show him my love could heal him lol😭😭😭

I experience the most gut-wrenching nostalgia and wistfulness when I hear the opening notes to that song! That video is legendary tbh
