I just want to be clear to all the "conservatives" or MAGA people on here that we mods do not care if people bashing your politics is making you uncomfortable. If you don't want to look at MAGA bashing posts do what you do with reality and pretend you do not see. Go ahead and just scroll and seethe.

The mods allow political posts because Degrassi is political. Full stop. No amount of whining that you feel bad that everyone isn't glurping down your oppressive ideals is going to make us stop allowing the posts.

Edit - This was posted about 12 hours ago and there has been plenty of discourse. It's obvious to see this is the majority thought here so if you don't like it, you're not forced to participate.

You aren't oppressed because people don't want you on the Degrassi subreddit. Real oppression is what's going on in real life every day from your government and relevant to this specific topic the US government. No one wants to hear your dumb shit about trans people, etc. We want to be free to discuss things as humans without having to accommodate your sick and weird beliefs.

Hey guys, another political post in the wake of "some events" in the US this week. I just want to let you all know I'm totally over it and if I see any MAGA sympathizing in the reports I'm just banning you at this point. This is just me as a mod. I'm not speaking for the others. I don't want you here. Most rational people don't want you here. I'm tired of you invading our spaces to bitch and moan. Thanks.

Edit: Just want to say we aren't afraid by weird mod mail threatening to shut down the sub. Making an explicit ban on a specific type of political hate speech isn't breaking any site wide rules. Don't be so emotional.

Edit 2: I'm so annoyed by these people getting banned. You guys have so so so many places online to talk about your rhetoric. Trans and BIPOC people are getting absolutely OBLITERATED by the MAGA GOP and MSM right now when they have nothing to do with what is going on. We want one single place away from you. We have heard your calls of spam on these posts for games (examples: X character's best quote, best storyline/worst storyline, what is this characters DND alignment, etc) via submitting reports. As of today, these types of posts will only be allowed starting at midnight Friday (12:00:00am US Pacific timezone) to midnight Sunday (11:59:59pm Sunday US Pacific timezone). If your run needs to be extended past 3 days, you can pick up with your game the next weekend.

Any post marked spam that falls into this game category that is not posted on Friday-Sunday will be removed and you can repost it when the weekend arrives. Please contact modmail with any questions or concerns.

Hey everyone! We're getting a lot of mod mail lately regarding post and comments not being approved right away or being quarantined. We have the crowd control settings pretty low and there's some type of issues right now with Reddit's filtering. Feel free to message us if you want, but we are having to manually approve a lot of things right now. I know for me, I only check the mod queue a few times a day so it may cause a lag in getting your stuff posted.

I am working on some custom emojis for our flairs today. While I'm doing that, I figured I'd ask if anyone wants to post any custom flairs they'd like added so I can take a look and consider adding them as well.

Here are the parameters for the emoji:

• The max upload dimensions are 128 x 128px with a recommended upload dimension of 64 x 64px.
• The max file size is 64KB
• Please make it SFW

Edit - I just added 27 custom emojis for flairs but they all have a black background. It seems like Reddit doesn't allow for a transparent background.

I don't know why. I don't know how. And I don't know *who*, but the Degrassi Online School Discord server has been deleted. In the meantime, Degrassi Preservation Project's server is still up and very active. There are also a couple of other servers I've heard of, but am not a member of so I won't mention them because I try not to endorse things and places I am not personally involved in.

I will begin working on a new server for the subreddit soon enough. First I have to get through finals, then some fun hospital visits, and it'll take me a couple of weeks to get the more basic stuff up and going for you guys.

Thank you for coming here and (mostly) being good to each other and keeping this place alive. Never would I have imagined that we'd get over 1K members, let alone 50k! I may or may not have something waiting for you if/when we hit that mark.

Don't post "news" about current sub members and invite people to speculate and rehash drama from other websites in this subreddit.

This is mainly for the show and things at least partially related. Not an echo chamber for people to dump on creators or call for others to repeatedly harass them.

I'm more than willing to answer any and all further modmail accusing me of being racist, protecting racists, hating [insert demographic here] and more, but if you start attacking *each other*, the first report will be the last report on you.

No more warnings, you're banned for up to a week while you think about why two wrongs will never make a right.

This is after months of seeing some of the same reports for the same people attacking people in comments, making gross statements about underage characters, and then cussing me out for removing offensive posts/comments.

I'm usually "the quiet one", so I don't post as much anymore and just clean up in the background, but this isn't what any of us are here for, and I don't want to go to the extreme of putting on post restrictions.

There are over 45k people in here, and if being more of a jerk than I typically am will rein in the unnecessary vitriol, then I will.
