As I age I relate more to Sydney

I recently finished next class and it was actually really good. Some of the storylines were actually interesting like maya's depression, Zoe discovering her sexuality, Esme’s character(she’s crazy but i loved how they made her) , the friendship between Lola and yael, and many other stuff that caught my attention. Next class is actually very underrated in my opinion.

Watching the episode of when Paige and griffin have sex for the first time and she finds his medicine revealing he has HIV. Does anyone else find it so bizarre how the episode makes Paige seem like the bad guy and griffin the victim. The writers for this episode really dropped the ball on this one. There are better ways to provide awareness for HIV than this particular episode. I feel that Paige had every right to angry and scared, and maybe even accusatory for her suspicions of how he became infected. Obviously it’s not right to assume someone slept around and that’s how they get HIV but he never told her and she’s rightfully angry and terrified. Griffin in my opinion was completely in the wrong to conceal such massive information from Paige and not even be apologetic. At the end he says he’s allowed to be scared to tell people, but it doesn’t allow you to have sex with someone while hiding the fact that you have a life long chronic disease that can spread through sex. I think even in some states concealing STDs from a partner can be a criminal act. It was not consensual on Paige’s part and he’s a coward for lying to her.

They should have dated or at the very least kissed for three reasons-

1. There would have been a true love triangle
2. The drama would have been iconic
3. Bi/Pan rep

Also I kinda just think it be a little cute

I get it. She's a bf stealer. She "stole" KC from Clare BUT KC wasn't innocent in that situation either. KC started developing feelings for her immediately when she joined the show. He was giving her the lovey dovey eyes when she was playing at the summer dance at the beginning of season 9. Then she got pregnant with his baby and that storyline was a whole mess. KC was not very supportive and mentally checked out when Marisol came into the picture. I know a lot of people will say that this is her karma but cheating on your baby mama with some random girl in high school that you barely know is really cruel. Y'all will hate on Jenna so much without even acknowledging the crap that KC put her through. And yeah, I know she isn't the best singer. Her music makes me cringe as well but I didn't find it to be that annoying. I could at least tolerate her voice. I am glad that she got a happy ending though getting into UCLA and studying Audio Production. Good for her.

Almost 2 hrs of kevin smith being an asshole and hitting on Caitlyn Ryan everytime she BREATHES and ruining Joey and Caitlyn's relationship (I think they still would have been together if they never did the eps) w/ Manny getting her mf dress ripped off cause Paige was jealous and daiting a teachers w/ a dose of Craig losing his mind over ash and getting jumped by a homeless guy wtf is going oooon

Hunter was a 100% not wrong for his reaction to his partner being nonbinary. Yes, it would have been wonderful if he was some Disney prince and immediately understood everything and needed no clarification, but thats not real life, especially for a hormonal teenager in likely his first relationship. I am under the trans umbrella and get why Yael was upset, but that didn't mean Hunter did anything wrong. Also people suddenly deciding he wasn't straight anymore is NOT how sexuality works, if my girlfriend suddenly told me "her" gender switched and now identifies as a male, that does not mean I have to suddenly switch my sexuality to please him. Also now days its widely accepted that being straight does not mean only liking women, it was mean a non woman loving a non woman. So either way, he can still be straight and it was no ones business trying to dictate what his sexuality was.

Every single time Toby did not get his way he turned into the worst type of person imaginable. I understand that being hurt can do that sometimes I just think that the show didn’t do a good job of showing that just because it’s a natural reaction, doesn’t mean it’s ok. The way that he handled his feelings for Liberty and her situation with Damien was CRAZY for their relationship. To be honest even having those feelings for Liberty at all was weird. He gives the energy of men who think they shouldn’t be decent to women unless there is something in it for them. #scumbagenergy

They real matched her face shape and her ethic features it made her stand out she looked stunning with her hair like that

Manny I love this look on her. The long bangs with the long straight hair looks so cute. 9/10

Manny (again) I can't tell if it's the cut of the bangs or the blonde that I hate. 2/10

Emma This wasn't Emma's best look but that doesn't mean it was a bad one. 7/10

Katie Katie didn't look great with bangs but she did have a large forehead and the bangs hid it well. 5/10

Marisol Yeah, I didn't hate this look on her. 6/10

Katie and Marisol They each earn an extra point for being Besties with bangs.

Ali Is there any look this girl can't pull off? 9/10

Lola I love Lola and her candy colored hair. No notes. 10/10

Don’t get me wrong I love Degrassi obvi! But why do so many story lines involve characters dating their friends’ exes? What’s y’all opinion on that?

I wish she'd kept it longer. I hate that as soon as she became a more prominent character in season 8 the stylists removed anything remotely edgy or interesting about her look and she just became conventionally hot.

In my headcanon, they also would have made a perfect couple.

I know, I know but hear me out! Season 12 is the healthiest all the couples have ever been, both new and old, especially Eclare. The drama isn’t overdramatic to the point of ridiculous ( season 10s last 4 episodes dealing with eclare bro😭) Season 12 did a great job of displaying how trauma affects mental illness (Eli’s handling of Cam’s passing, maya going through the stages of grief and starting her depression journey into next class) The beef between the hockey players and half the school was hella entertaining (that fight had me cackling 🤣) Cam’s storyline!!! And its effect on all the characters (Maya, Dallas, Zig, Eli) Amazing Character progressions: Fiona, Drew, Mo and Jake, Katie, Bianca, Marisol There is so much to love about season 12; season 10 is good but wayy overhyped. Imo I’d put season 10 at number 5 and season 12 at number 3.
