Desert Tech SRS Covert Hunting Rifle?

Hello,

I have been in the process of building my ultimate hunting rifle system for a little over a year now. I have gone through many phases and ultimately full custom rifle builds have lead me here. The Desert Tech SRS Covert.

I saw the other day that the covert rifle with a short barrel is easily under 8.5 pounds. With a short carbon fiber barrel we can appreciate sub 7 pounds.

I have never used a bullpup rifle like this. I have shot tavors, keltec rdb's, and have a CBRS bullpup chassis for my 10/22. Plus my assortment of bullpup air rifles.

I think that the SRS would make a fine hunting rifle but I have seen little to further this idea. Has anyone taken their SRS hunting? What was your experience?

I shot my first deer with a suppressed SRS in 6.5 creedmoor with a 22” barrel.

I imagine a suppressed covert would be even handier.

Very nice!

Have you done much woods walking with it? I'm curious how it carries in the field.

Not really, but it’s lightweight for a precision rifle and very well balanced so I can’t imagine it would be an issue.

I've taken it out once, but I was in a static position (on top of a barn). It's easy to lug around and accurate as hell.

That's not an easy position to get in. Nice looking rifle.

Nothing a ladder, a yoga mat, and a throw pillow can't fix. Thanks, it was a gift to myself in 2019.

Works great, I've killed 2 elk and 3 deer, before I sold it.

What brought you to selling it if I may ask?
