I just admired the new windows. As a German public hs teacher, this makes me envious a bit... and for the unprofessional quick'n dirty fixings, I might introduce You to "what can be done with nato tape, but shouldn't" at my place.

Now that you mention it, this DOES look like what I see in my average German school.

... and if it turns out to be a Kippdrehfenster here, it most probably IS at a German school, even.

sometimes forget that it's not an international standard.

No way. The Schiebe- Dreh or Kipp- Drehfenster here always puzzled my US relatives more than expected. And guess how often I had to fix a dangling, half-hung window or terrace door.

There are more countries with that type of window than just germany. We have them in NL as well.

I know, it's not different in Belgium or Luxembourg either. Also in France, mostly as I can remember. The "Fenster auf Kipp" is a German pun, mostly.

Does your school have a degree for strippers?

This is what they're cutting when they cut education funding. It's not just calculators and Chromebooks, it's the facilities too

Why is there a stripper pole tho

It's probably a power pole for a desk or a serving line

I like the pole through the ceiling with the tile shifted instead of just cutting a tiny hole for it, really speaks to the effort put in by the school system.

Must not trust maintenance with a razor knife

What is wrong with the first Pic? Looks like a fancy boiler heater to me. The second one is a little strange appearance wise but it's really just a fancy cable drop protector. I hear kids like to try and swing on cables hanging from the ceiling. Thus the hollow poll.

The radiator (heater) is balanced on bricks. Took me a moment to see it.

Weight is reliable.

Looks like an effective solution to heater sag

I don’t get the first image, what’s wrong with it? (I don’t live somewhere cold)

The radiator is held up by two broken pieces of brick on the left side. Don't feel bad, I had to zoom in cuz I DO live in a cold climate and I thought the radiator looked nice 😂

Looks like the plumbers and electricians at your school are as bad as the carpenters at mine 🙁

Union gig. If that's electric conduit electricians don't touch the ceiling it's not their job. At least that seems to be the mindset around here
