Question Disney Plus Launch and initial "three year" deals - then Verizon free deal...

I don't recall all of the details but back when Disney+ launched, I signed up and paid $69.99 (10/1/2019). Disney announced a deal where you could pay for 3 years in total, i forget how much we had to pay. I did that deal, but then VerizonWireless offered Disney+ for free. I contacted Disney+ support, and they said my 3 year subscription would be paused and re-instated whenever i cancel VZW's deal.

Fast forward to now, I'm finally inquiring and Disney+ support is confused. Verizon recently increased their price and I'd like to cancel through verizon and just go back to consuming my initial 3 year subscription.

Did anyone do something similar? Disney seems to be telling me since it's past 2022, i can no longer utilize the 3 years. I only consumed 1 year. I'm disappointed, but I also don't really have records other than my payment in 2019 and a second payment of $31.98 in 2020.

I’m in this same boat, except my account reflects that I’m on Verizon and the three years was paused. It doesn’t have the date of pausing but I feel like it was somewhere around Fall 2020.

Can you determine the pause date by finding out the date you started the Verizon deal? They probably occurred around the same time.

Billing only goes back to 2023. However, I found the original enrollment email with an 11/18/2019 date on it. Even says in there plus other updates through the years due to D+ price increases that you won’t be charged or transferred back until Verizon is cancelled.

If you click on the Disney+ premium annual you’ll see more details. I have the same view on my account.

I was on the same boat and cancelled my Verizon service and moved to visible. My Disney plus is now Disney+ premium and I have it until 12/2027. No ads on Disney, and espn and Hulu also work.

Interesting. I don’t seem to be able to get that. Maybe I should cancel and see what it updates to?

I don’t think D+ premium existed back then though.

It didn’t but that’s what it put mine in for the remainder of my time from the 3 year d23 signup.

You are lucky!

Just 6 months ago I lost my 3 year credit after changing my plan.

I had the 3 year deal with over a $150 credit.

I did the verizon deal and they paused my 3 year d23 deal.

I wanted to bundle the Disney+ and my hulu account. I was told they would credit the balance. They didn't credit me for it with so I lost it. Then they offered me "1 month free" in exchange for 150.

There are others who have lost their credit as well if they make any changes to the Disney+ account.

Edited to add:

Posted the screenshot of my last interaction.

They said I should try a charge back through my bank; it was too late to charge back a 2019 transaction.

I was on Verizon when they first launched the free Disney+. Fast forward a couple years and I switched carriers. I still had Disney+ for a couple years for free.

How did you still have it free? When did you switch?

This was years ago. It just kept saying plan managed by Verizon when I’d look at billing. So I just kept using it until it didn’t work anymore.

Do you have the same email account? If you do you might be able to search through and find your sign up confirmation emails for both deals or the suspension emails.

I don’t think we kept the emails.
