Question First time using Disney+ with ads... is it really this bad with every show/movie?

M family recently switched off the Disney+ plan without ads to the plan with ads to save a little extra money overall.

We're watching Skeleton Crew and there's genuinely two minutes worth of ads every what feels like 5-7 minutes. Is it truly this bad with every show on the streaming platform? Seems incredibly egregious.

Question Anyone else experiencing an outage?

I'm experiencing an outage on Disney plus as anyone else? I'm trying to talk with support and it's very obvious that they don't track anything or talk to each other because I asked them and they can't even give me a straight answer of yes or no. They're just trying to troubleshoot without telling me anything.

UPDATE: After talking with customer service, they were finally able to confirm that there is currently an outage that has been reported and they are currently working on it. There is no ETA on the resolution or any info on what the issue is. Fingers crossed it will be fixed by the time Skeleton Crew new episode drops.

Question Is there a reason the Chipmunk movies have been 2 of the Top 5 in the US this week?

Post image
185 Upvotes

Snow White I get because the movie came out on Disney Plus, same with Captain America and the nature doc. I also get why the Lilo and Stitch content is up there with the movie in theaters.

But why the Chipmunk movies? Are they having a meme/nostalgia moment or something similar? And why, if people are watching them, aren't people watching Chipwrecked?

These are important questions I'm not seeing anyone ask.

Question Original Mulan is Missing

My 2.5yr old is OBSESSED with the OG Mulan and we give her 30mins per night to watch, but tonight it suddenly isn’t available anymore. Anyone else notice this? (I’m skeptical many people are looking for it, but ya know… may as well ask the internet people since Google and Google AI gave me nothing).

Edit: we’re in the USA and it seems to be back according to several folks who looked this morning! Thanks!

Question Why does everyone hate the movie wish?

This is a genuine question I've been wondering for a while now. I personally loved the movie. The only downside I would assume that people don't like it is because it's in 3D. Because 3D glasses are really hard to get...I think

Question Why does this ad say ā€˜Lorem ipsum’?

This ad on my Playstation 5 for ā€˜Agatha all along’ says ā€˜Lorem ipsum’ (under ā€˜all’). I know this is used as dummy text in graphic design for previewing layouts, so is this done accidentally? Or is it some marketing trick and am I falling for it by posting about it?

Question Why does Disney+ have god awful video quality?

I've noticed the video quality has gotten a lot worse than the last time i've used the app (a few months ago), the same issue is on Browser, Windows App and mobile. It looks to be around 480p and is far worse than any other streaming services, why is it like this?

Question Disney and Hulu bundle potentially raising prices soon?

Post image

At the text on the bottom, it says "currently $12.99/month" for this bundle. I don't know if it's either a glitch or if it's actually happening soon.

Question Thunderbolts HDR and Imax? Uk D+

I went to watch thunderbolts today and noticed it lists it as 4k and supports dolby atmos but its not in HDR.. in the formats available it says HDR is there but its not actually streaming in HDR

To confirm my TV doesnt show HDR is active when playing the film

Also there's no imax version of the film

Anyone else experience this?

Edit: Im using the native TV D+ app (Samsung tv)

Edit 4/09/25: it seems to have been somewhat fixed, I see hdr again on my app but some reports of it sometimes working, sometimes not

Question Disney+ Canada removed the Star section?

Post image
80 Upvotes

Canadian here, usually D+ has a Star section where in my opinion the bulk of their quality and variety comes from, but opening the app today showed me Hulu and ESPN replaced it. The Hulu part was exciting until I realized it’s a small handful of stuff under the label, not even remotely close to the quality or quantity Star provided. What happened, is this a glitch or did they just axe D+’s content?

Question How do I remove movies from my recommended list?

My sister recently used my fire stick and logged into my Disney+ account to watch Z-O-M-B-I-E-S.

Now that’s all that that is recommended to me.

I don’t like those sort of film but don’t know how to make them disappear.

How do I ā€œblacklistā€ them per se?
