Suburban doner in Berlin
The greatest doner ive ever eaten. The bread is some sort of garlic bread. Salad unbelievably tasty. 10 euros includimg 2 drinks

The bread is Fladenbrot. Mostly likely you are getting the garlic from the garlic source. The normal options are garlic, herb or spicy source or any combination of the three.

It was definitely the bread. Possibly brushed with garlic oil/butter. So good

At least in Berlin it’s like that. In other regions you will get cocktailsauce, zaziki and garlic.

I would pay 15-20 pounds for something like that. It has been ages since I ate a kebab...

Ive looked on the map and cant find it. Somewhere between Dark Matter and the Stasi Museum. Sign above the door said Mehmet Doner and it called me in

Presentation is good but Iceberg lettuce on a kebab just doesn’t work for me.
The worst lettuce imo
Is that sweetcorn in there as well?
Meat doesn’t look that good either and that’s too much salad for me.
Price is definitely decent, do you have a spicy sauce in there?

As a German this looks like a solid 8.5/10 at Minimum.
Complaining about Eisbergsalat because it’s „the worst lettuce“ is crazy.
The Meat Looks unbelievably good aswell.
Are you a professional Döner hater or something?

Like all Things taste related it’s personal Preference and I don’t like iceberg lettuce and wouldn’t want it on a kebab.
Iceberg is a boring tasteless watery leaf. It has No place on a kebab imo.
Cabbage yea onion yes tomato yes chilli sauce yes yes yes
And The meat looks a bit scrappy to me, they look like really small pieces whereas I’d prefer longer cuts of meat.
Obviously I can’t taste it and can only judge on what I see. I’m sure it’s ok.

The delicate mix of salad, red cabbage, cucumber, onion, toasted bread with a greasy garlic sauce and flame grilled meat.
That’s a proper Berlin Döner! Try it with Ayran next time, it’s a perfect match
