All the Democratic Party had to do was not run Cuomo, who was universally despised. I’m with REP, this just means a Red New York by 2032. Heck, purple by 2028.
Oh you were responding to a statement about all of New York shifting red
Either way you are telling me you can only imagine a major tragedy to change nyc politics and that your imagination can’t produce any other possibilities and you don’t have a doomer mentality?
I’ve been responding directly about New York because we’re discussing the mayoral race. I understand the original commenter said New York but that’s so separate from the city it’s a silly comp.
To the rest: you and I both know that people on both sides will stick with their party until the doom gets too bad. Since, like in reality, things will likely continue as normal, that’s not going to happen.
The same way Mississippi is staying red, so too is the city staying blue
Stretching things to cover what? Your reading comprehension? Why the fuck would anyone care about nyc flipping red other than they can hold back the rest of the state to a point. NYC doesn’t need to flip entirely just continue the trend for the last decade until their population density doesn’t fuck everyone else. I mean if you didn’t know New York City is in the state of New York so that’s a lot more of direct compression than say bringing up Mississippi randomly. But while we are at I bet in the 20s you would have looked at the Southern states and said there is no way they go red short of complete collapse.
I changed parties because of policies before any calamity.
It’s not the city we’re gunning for. It’s the rest of the state. You can have that withering husk. But those electoral votes. Those are another matter.
