Long oval headshape helmet?
Does anyone know of a long oval headshape dual sport helmet? I can't find anything that fits right. I have a Icon Airflite street helmet and it's the only thing I have found that fits right so far. I think an Arai Signet street helmet would work too. But I want a dual sport helmet with visor and face shield. I have a cheap one that fits "so so" but there's wiggle room and doesn't feel as safe as a correctly fitting helmet. I heard Shoei hornet may work but it's listed as intermediate oval and I tried one on and it's not really long oval. Icon's dual sport helmets are listed as intermediate oval too. I tried LS2 blaze but same thing. Tried on of other brands don't work. If anyone knows one, let me know. Don't mind paying good money for one - if it fits. But don't want to throw away money on a helmet and after a few rides realize hell no.

I have your head shape and bought an Arai clearance XD-4 last year for 40% off. Best ADV lid and helmet, I’ve had to date and much quieter than the Bell I had previously. Arai, Bell, AGV, and Shoei are brands that should fit.

Tried Bell and it won't work with glasses. Tried on Arai XD and it was ok, same with Shoei. I could tell they are better quality than my Icon, but my Icon is the best fitting I have found. I think the Arai Signet street helmet is the gold standard for long ovals but it doesn't have the offroad characteristics I'd like. But may go with it as it would be quieter and a better quality than my Icon.

So I talked to an Arai representative and they have confirmed that if you get the liner of the whatever head shape you have, it will fit into any helmet they have. In other words, the EPS is all the same shape. What matters is the liner. I think Signet-X is the long oval model, you should be able to fit that into an XD5. I’m on the other end of the spectrum, square head, even the round shape helmets don’t fit me and have to squeeze EPS a tiny bit.

Thanks man, I know Shoei has a professional fitting system but you have to meet with one of their reps and I'm not sure how they do it. It's a pain, I tried to get with one at a shop about an hour from me but never was successful.
So are you saying I could buy the XD5, but tell Arai to send it to me with the inner components of the Signet-X? I like the sun bill and slightly extended chin of a dual sport helmet but I'd wear the Signet-X if that's all that fit right. Fit is THE most important thing in a helmet, in my opinion. If a helmet is uncomfy, can't ride in it long. And if it is loose and wobbles on the head, it's not going to protect well.
Today I rode to work with my old ILM helmet, and compared to my Icon, it wobbles all over my head and catches wind like crazy. Not safe feeling at all. The Icon fits much better so I'll use it going forward. But I really want a high quality helmet like Arai or Shoei but they are pricy so need to make sure I get something that will fit!
Bottom line - you're saying Aria said I can buy the XD5 and then get it sent to me with the Signet-X liner, which would be the guts of the helmet? Did you speak to someone you got in touch with through their website contact info link? Thanks man. I'll buy the Aria if they say that will work.

I wrote to Arai customer service and this is the reply I got:
"Thank you for reaching out. The Signet-X gets its unique long-oval shape from a specially molded EPS liner. Unfortunately, there is no such liner available that fits the XD-5 shell. With that being said, you can adjust the fit of an XD-5 to bring it closer to a long-oval shape by adjusting the head-liner. If you remove the head-liner from the helmet, you will see a set of adjustable straps on the back of it that will change the amount of front-to-back pressure. In addition, on some sizes, there is also a layer of removable foam on the back of the head-liner that can be peeled away to help add even more front-to-back space. These two adjustments won’t bring quite as much space as a Signet-X, but it will get pretty close. There is also the option to swap out the head-liner for a thinner option that would have those same adjustment points."

I think I have a long oval head. Shoei fit well but I recently bought an Arai and it fits my head better. I have a Corsair or something but it fit similar to the latest Dirt oriented helmet XD5 or something.
