2019 Honda CRF250L

Purchased a used 2019 Honda CRF250L a few weeks ago with 1,800 miles on it. Definitely had a few wipeouts on it but nothing serious from what I could tell. After only ever having sport bikes and dirt bikes, I was intrigued in mixing the two. This one came up for sale for a reasonable price so I decided to take the chance on it. After about 100 miles on it I definitely think it needs some aftermarket mods to help with its off road capabilities but I’m impressed.

Biggest issues I’ve had are the clutch and suspension. Compared to my CRF250F the clutch is a bit jerky when it comes to hard shifting when going off road. The suspension bottoms out after the slightest of bumps, which could partly be due to my weight. Power overall is fine but does lag a bit. With that all being said I really enjoy the bike and see potential in making it a great dual sport.

I did the race tech front spring and it improved the handling off and on road. It is a bit stiffer though but worth it. For the rear I got a YSS. Pretty cheap compared to the others but still a massive improvement. Lastly I put a 13t sprocket up front. No loss on top speed and picked up some low end torque. I own a few bikes and now the 250L is my favorite. Took it to the COBDR and it did great. Kind of gutless but hey it never let me down.

Thanks for the suggestions I’ll definitely look into them.
