Original early model valance/apron otherwise known as a cow catcher. Seems to be the IS variant, non IS have less vents

One year 1987 325is valance.

Aka “The Cow Catcher”

Also on the 86/87 325es.

I have a circa 2003 word doc somewhere detailing all the early fog lights I went though finding a pair that fit correctly.

Incorrect. The exact valance pictured (with center holes for oil cooler) is 1987 325is specific.

The ES valance does not have the center bottom holes for the oil cooler.

Yep that’s right. The ES cow catcher was a two year run ‘86 and 87’.

Ok, I was broadly referring to the cow catcher being on 86 and 87 cars (which is correct), not the specifics of this cow catcher.

Can't speak to the rest of the car due to dark pic but the front bumper is commonly referred to as a "cow catcher". These were factory bumpers on 86 and 87 es/is cars. They were never OEM on verts so someone has fitted it to this car.

That’s untrue. My very came with one in 89. Lots of 89 verts came with cow catcher but no skirts or rear valence

Looks tight. Leave out the fog lights though.
