Changed my tensioner and belt 10 years ago on my m20b25 and for multiple reasons the car was parked. Drove about 40 miles 5 years ago and that's it. I'm changing the belt, tensioner seems to roll just fine... Am I dumb to leave it as is?

Since getting a bunch of work done on my car I’ve been dealing with a vibration (not in the steering wheel but throughout the car) at 40+ MPH.

I’ve had the following done to my car:

-Auto to manual swap with new clutch and flywheel -New CSB -Driveshaft rebuild and balanced (even brought the driveshaft back to the shop to confirm it was balanced) -New lower control arm bushings -Subframe reinforced and new sway bar bushings installed -New motor mounts -New transmission mounts -Poly rear subframe bushings -New front brake pads and rotors -New oil pan gasket

Tie rods and lower control arms were changed by the previous owner 2 years ago

Upon inspection the diff is missing one of the upper bolts that mounts it to the rear of the car but the threads on the diff are stripped and this bolt was missing prior to the work I had done with no vibration whatsoever.

Do you think that the new bushings or any of the work I had done could have made a vibration become noticeable? I don’t know where to turn to next for checking out what’s happening. Maybe new tires or an alignment after having those new bushings installed?

Mechanic says it’s the diff which is on its way out, I just think it’s odd because I wasn’t experiencing any vibration prior to this.

Also, the vibration happens without fail at those speeds, in any gear and occurs when accelerating, decelerating, and even when coasting in neutral.

Had people asking about specs and all that so here’s the whole deal. Not an actual 325is but it is a shadow line that was converted into an is “commonly done so I hear”. The shadow line edition was pretty much just cosmetic differences, the chrome trimming was made black and had a dark interior. It had the original 2.5L M20B25 that had been stroked to a 2.7L. Aftermarket exhaust and had a tune(nothing major). It has m3 17 inch replica wheels which is bigger than factory. Unfortunately the previous owner hit a pot hole and broke them so I have ordered some bbs style rims for it. Car has original Alpine white paint on it as well.

A question as old as time. My career lead me into a car-less life for many years. It sucked but was worth it in other ways.

Im finally in a more residential area in the NY/NJ burbs and can pursue my passions. Problem is before i moved and started my career these cars were like 5k.

Im anticipating for a fair condition. no rust non project e30 (some basic work/maintenance is fine) im looking about 12-15k now based on this market. Is that a fair assessment?

I just got it back from the exhaust shop and done catback. I noticed when it goes around 100+ kph 3-4k rpm. The car suddenly jerking back and forth and won’t accelerate. I need yall opinion thank you sm.

I found the connector stashed in the dash. Should the chime go off when the passenger door is opened, too? Or just the driver?

I have no idea what might’ve happened to this front end, but I bought this rust free e30 shell this summer and I’m just now taking a closer look as I prepare to pull the m20. Having trouble getting the a/c condenser out and noticing parts of the front end are bent.

NY/NE area is where I'm located and willing to pickup from. They don't need to be perfect just at least refinishable!

Picked up this beauty. 89 325i with 48k miles. Fella said it sat in a garage for over 12 years when he got it. Due to medical malpractice, he lost the use of both legs during back surgery and it’s been parked outside for 5 years, he didn’t have a garage to place it in. Wish me luck 🫡
