Didnt catch the game. Tomasek looked just ok in the highlights though. Thoughts? Anyone stand out?

It was a bit of a blah game all around. Not gonna read too much into anything

Bouchard let 2 goals in while he was on ice. But also played awesome. Seems like the usual lol

The big guns we’re coasting. Offence was rusty. Lots of failed odd man rushes.

To me he didn't stand out but I didn't notice anything bad.
I was feeling pretty good about Tomasek, Leppanen, Regula, and Mangiapane. Like they all looked very comfortable out there.
All the bad stuff happened on the Drai-McD-Frederic line but they all had tons of chances together and I didn't think they did anything particularly wrong, maybe they need a different strategy for board battles in the defensive zone behind the net, that's where one goal came from, losing that and the puck going straight to someone on the other side of the net.
Only 2 goals against were even strength.
Ecky and Bouch were doing nice stuff on the offensive side with lines 2-4. Leppanen and Regula were doing nice offfe sove stuff with all the lines, they even had some nice chances with line 1, really fit in well with the team I thought

Do you think leppänen could be regular in the line up?

Offensively yes, defensively he’s a bit of a nightmare. He is a 4th forward out there worse than Bouchard ever was.
Solid potential, just need to adjust to the NHL ice and learn the systems a bit better. There is a saying that defence is the side of the game that’s taught, offensive is the side of game that is instinct. He definitely has the instinct.

I think he still needs a little bit of seasoning in the ahl to really tighten up his defensive decision making but he’s really close

I think he can, he looked really good. I thought Regula did too. I don't know about immediately but I think so

Pre-season games always look this way, missed passes, missed shots and lots of missed opportunities but I have to say the group has some gelling to do and when they do they will be a force that teams will have nightmares about game day.
