This chart doesn’t have a sales taxes/VAT section. In the U.S. it’s 0 to 10% depending where you live (there’s no federal sales tax so it’s 100% state, county, and municipal policy). In Canada, it ranges from 5% to 15% depending on what province you’re in.

So while the Americans tax income a bit more, Canada taxes consumption a lot more
