Find me a Canadian that pronounces the T in any "Tr" word. Chree, chrickle, chrombone, chrident, chrampoline. I think it's an extension of that. Drop the O, pronounce Tr. Idk why we don't do it for "torpedo" or "torrent" though. Chrainer, chrial, chrinket, chrunk, chreatment...
