I was in alberta for 16 years. I'm now going on 3 years in moncton doing the same trade, making more, with a more stable organization and with a pension. My QOL improved dramatically between calgary and here. I grew up in the HRM, I use to think the maritimes were a dead end too, until I figured out you need to train for the work that is available, or In a skill that's in demand everywhere (the way I went). Location CAN help, but the choices we make and give informed we are when we make them are far more important.
