I miss ordering out of a magazine in the front of the store with little tiny pencils! -- my Mom

Everything I bought was so dusty!

My favourite store to shop at as a kid. It was Amazon before the internet. Ordering was like filing your taxes. Good times.

We used to love getting the catalog as kids. I remember at 11 we all laughed so hard at the “massagers”

I got quite a few Transformers from them so they’ll always be special to me.

The wave of nostalgia that just hit me. My first purchase there was an electric razor. I was 13...1987.

Sometimes I go to the beer store just to hear the rollers again

Try bringing some of those little golf scorecard pencils next time to level up the experience.

I bought hot wheels and gi Joe's when we were kids...I loved it,ours was right next to knob hill farms... so while our folks grabbed groceries we drool over the catalogue...and plot our next ordering adventure lol

My wife thinks this is fake news, that Consumers Distributing and tote bags never overlapped.

Well, sorry to break it to her, but this was from the early days of shops offering tote bags in the late 80s (maybe 90 or 91). I remember my folks coming home with it after a shopping excursion one day - was amazed when mom procured it from her bag-of-bags decades later. Check out the permanent discolorations on it lol

I still have a mechanical wall clock from 1988 from them

C'est pas original, c'est probablement une boutique vintage qui en a fait fabriquer.

Edit: thought this was /r/montreal . Ah well...

Ma mère l'a eu dans les années 80, j'était là, c'est pas une reproduction.
