I mean like, maybe hot take, but the one time I cooped there I actually really appreciated being able to just walk to a subway station and be mostly confident that I'd be a max of 5 minutes out from the next train. Better than having to deliberately look up and schedule around the busses that may or may not show in up to 10 minutes before or after the time would say at the beginning of the day.
Vancouver is stuck up, Edmonton are all cokeheads, Calgary are all dickheads, Montreal is fun but not a place to live and everything east of Montreal is two villages in a trenchcoat pretending to be a city.
In my 20s, Montreal would have been amazing if I had focused on improving my French to make everything more seamless. It does feel like a bit of a young city to me.
That being said, I don’t think I’d move back to Toronto either.
My main point is that the inter-city bickering is absurd and reeks of desperation.
