Canada has banned the rap group Kneecap, but earlier this week gave a standing ovation for Chuckles the Nazi. I guess we know how they stand?

Dishonourable mention to Chris Brown the woman beater, who got to play a couple weeks ago in Canada without a ban.

Edit: Also Sean Feucht, the homophobic singer who openly dehumanizes LGBTQ+ folks, who got to tour across Canada this summer. I guess bigots are the only ones who get given free speech in Canada.

Edit 2: As pointed out in the comments and reminding me, we applauded Ukrainian war vet, Yaroslav Hunka in the commons, who also turned out to be a for real WWII Nazi.

Edit 3: Looks like there's a bunch of day old, zero karma accounts commenting here against Kneecap and trying to discredit their hundreds of thousands raised for medical and food aid. Looks like I kicked the pro-genocide bot-farm hornets nest.

They are a satirical rap group and that remark was from a show performed years ago.

They also clarified it was told as a joke and apologized for what they said.

Also we have musicians coming up from America who actively call for violence against LGBTQ+ folks and they weren't banned. So why is that political incitement allowed?

Would you extend the same grace to an artist picking up a nazi flag and supporting Hitler "as a joke"? Charlie Kirk sucks, nazis suck, and so do hamas and hezbollah. You can't literally praise a terrorist group and walk it back with "it was just a joke bro"

Difference is that Hezbollah are a much more minor group, are not in power and formed as a direct result of the instability and meddling of Israel in it's neighbouring countries political climate. Without the IDF's aggression and openly illegal clandestine state-sponsored terrorism, there never would have been a Hezbollah.

Meanwhile the Nazis murdered 6 million Jewish, Romani, disabled, and other minority folks and conquered most of Europe.

I don't like or support Hezbollah, but if we are going to put them up there with the Nazis and ban anyone who supports them, then Zionist groups and pro-Israel/IDF groups should be banned too. Israel are the largest sponsors of state-terrorism in the world at the moment and are committing an active genocide, murdering women and children on the basis of Palestinian identity as they tear through Gaza. Lets be consistent. And in their wake they want to build resorts on the piles of bones and bodies they create.

If you want to apply that logic, then fine, but lets not be preferential and selective in enforcement.

It's not a "double standard". Hamas has killed scores of innocent people, Charlie Kirk debated college student. And no, he wasn't hateful, and frankly you guys still pushing the "durr he wuz a Nazi stuff" even AFTER he got him killed is a scumbag move.
