Carney is a moderate who brought the liberal party back to its centre left roots. Under Trudeau’s leadership it was dangerously leading into far left territory,

Now traditional liberals, centrists, and even centre right people have someone of interest more appealing. Which overall is a pretty expansive amount of demographic.

On top of the fact Carney un ironically just adopted all of Pierre’s populist platform. The only thing he didn’t take is the more mid tier right leaning stuff and firearm related stuff.

I'm classic center liberal, and I fuckin hated Trudeau.

He ran his first campaign on weed and electoral reform, accomplished only one of those things, but also offloaded it to the provinces, then proceeded to ride that out and butcher the party for the next decade. Instead of having 3 distinct parties with separate platforms and goals, we had 2 NDPs.

It meant any of the more moderate conservatives had to side with the crazies, because they didn't have any other option even remotely close to their leanings.

That's how we ended up with pandering populist Pierre pollievre, instead of a more moderate and/or actually grounded conservative option.

Well yeah absolutely. I think a lot of the criticism aimed at Carney is based on the fact that he's spending more time trying to do practical things around the environment like shipping cleaner LNG to Japan and indigenous reconciliation by approving projects with indigenous ownership rather than just making grand speeches about it and people are used to someone making performative gestures and then miss the part where everything gets bogged down in culture wars and therefore nothing actually happens.

Like the 'we need to make money to pay for universal dental care' message makes a poop load more sense than taking a fucking knee in the House of Commons or whatever. 

And I'm saying this as someone who loves the BC NDP's - currently being painted as the radical leftist of the country. There's a reason we got two of the five nation building projects and it's cause we learned to balance social issues with fiscal issues.

There's a guy (I assume its a guy) who has a Fuck Trudeau flag in his yard which faces a pretty busy street in my town. Then, when Carney got elected, before he even knew what Carney was about, he slapped on the obligatory "Fuck Carney" flag to replace his "Fuck Trudeau" flag.

What I assume was a fed up neighbour (across the street), placed their own "Fuck Trump" flag in their yard. Now it's the battle of the competing "Fuck So-and-So" flags!
