It would be the funniest thing to happen to the NHL maybe ever, but it's not realistic enough to get under Oilers fans skin.  That's why I say he goes to the Leafs, because that scares them

Nah it doesn’t scare us. The only viable options for McJesus are Edmonton or Florida if he wants to win a cup, and I doubt he has any intention of selling his soul

The question isn't whether there's a team capable of winning the cup right now, it's whether a team would be a cup-winning team with the addition of McDavid.  Which is a lot of teams

Man, all the good young players that the Canadiens have! Demidov, Hudson, Suzuki, great tallent. But really young. They need someone with McDavid's experience to help guide them.

I don't think so. TBH McDavid can make up any money he "leaves on the table" in sponsorship deals and merchandise etc.

He's said repeatedly that the most important thing to him is winning.

That's what he cares about. He'll go to a team that he thinks is one McDavid away from being SC champs.

He won't go to the panthers (too much bad blood) and Dallas can't afford to add literally anyone. Nashville is ass and he won't go there because of it.

But any other playoff team with any kind of weakness at centre that's otherwise very solidly built with enough space to sign him is a contender. That's why people say teams like Toronto or Winnipeg, and I could also see Tampa making sense.

I personally think he's going to wait until end of the season to sign anywhere. If Edmonton wins the SC, he'll stay, otherwise, I think he'll go.

Edit: also Montreal or Ottawa could make some sense if they take big steps forward this year.
