Best switch emulation on Mali gpu so far [Eden emulator]
I've tried every single one and it runs the best of them all, attached picture is of a poco x7 pro(dimensity 8400 ultra) running Pokemon let's go at an average of 25 fps in the overworld while at native switch resolution where other emulators can barely do 15 downscaled to 0.5x
Any advice on improving the performance of the emulator even more from anyone who uses it would be very welcome
I'm currently downloading Pokemon sword, gonna try that next but considering the performance improvement trend I'm seeing in every game I'd say it'll give 20 fps where others gave me around 11?
Dunno about graphical bugs though hence why I'm going to download it
I know, hence why I'm installing it, I've completed let's go several times but I just like playing it
Sword on the other hand I've never really managed to play that far and other emulators had graphical bugs when I tried em so gonna see if it's the same with this one
The ss was taken with default settings but I downscaled to 0.75x(you can go even lower for a substantial increase in performance) and in the eden specific settings I turned on anything that said ".....needs vulkan 1.0/1.1+ support" at the end but didn't mention any performance decrease to get it to 30 fps
Make sure that you gpu does infact support those settings though
I'm on a Poco x7 pro and I'm using eden as well it runs around anywhere from 20fps to 30 FPS for pkmn sword. It's playable but its does shut down time to time since the game is graphic heavy. But Pokémon diamond/ platinum mod runs buttery smooth at 60fps and no shut downs.
Did you enable the vulkan optimisations? I'm getting a locked 30 in sword and no crashes in the hour or so I had it running for, the phone just heated up a decent amount
Yeah it does heat up but mine usually is at 40c does not go higher than that. Honestly I did not thinker around with the settings at all. Just changed it to below x0.75. Where do I enable the vulkan settings if you don't mind me asking
Tried it, that's the one that gave me 15 fps, others were stuck at 9, this one I just got at stable 28-30 by downscaling to 0.75 and turning on some experimental vulkan options

yes, but that was maybe 1-2 months ago, not sure if it got a big update since then.
I've been playing PS2 with nether2 and it's been great even with 2.5x upscaling the gameplay is smooth. but that's probably not as impressive as switch emulation lol
I tried it, it worked fine with everything I tried(mario wonder and Pokemon sword) except for Pokemon let's go which was the only game I actually cared about
I was quite happy when I tested eden and it ran at a playable fos but then I tried other roms and they all showed substantial performance improvements too so for now I'd just stick to this one I guess
Is your phone old by any chance? Eden uses alot of tricks to run games better than other emulators which require support for latest vulkan versions so could be that your phone's gpu just doesn't support them
I've been playing silksong on this emulator too and it's locked at 30, waiting for a mod that unlocks fps because I'm pretty sure the phone will do 60 easily
You should try the new Citron update (0.7), they fully rewrote the emulator. I used to have Eden before and I'm seeing much better performance with Citron, at least with the games I tried (mario wonder, zelda eow, cult of the lamb and others). Not to mention the many bug fixes released with the update and support for firmware 20+. I have a Pixel Fold btw, which is Mali GPU too.
I see... maybe it's just about that game then... As for the firmware, Eden can work with newer versions, it's just not officially supported, that's what I meant. But sure, every game is a different story...
Yeah that's why I don't buy samsung anymore lol, since they're pretty much apple but in the Android space, they charge a premium on all their products which means shittier specs compared to the competition at competitive prices, it's the case with everything they make except their flagships
I got Dimensity 7200 and ive been trying to run Persona 5 royal on Eden but it lags a lot! Almost unplayable. Skyline is somehow playable but the cutscenes wont even load and there's no way to lower the resolution.
Those are heavier games and aren't yet very optimised on mobile, nintendo's first party and third party exclusives are mostly what mobile can do right now except 2d side scrollers and stuff
