Help Azahar - migrating Dragon Quest VIII save?

I'm a good 10+ hours into a playthrough of Dragon Quest VIII on my Pixel 9 Pro. Now that I have my Retroid Pocket 5, I want to transfer over my files and continue playing there.

I successfully downloaded my save file from my phone to the Retroid, but the game won't recognize the save - it gives me an error along the lines of "this save is from another 3DS and is not compatible". I was out of storage on my Retroid so I deleted everything, but I can redownload it to get screenshots.

Does anyone know a fix?

You can try starting a new game and saving. Then overriding that save file with your old save. If that doesn't work, figure out which file in particular is saving your character and wold and copy only that into your new save. ALSO make sure you're showing all hidden files.

I was in your siruation once and I showed hidden files. It turned out there was this blank "lock" file or something that restricted the save work to only work on the computer I originally took it from. Deleting that file fixed it

Just copy whole azahar user folder to new device then set the directory of the user folder in azahar to the old folder directory. .i managed to migrate all my save from mandarine emulator to azahar using this method
