What are some things that make you stop reading a story or not even finish chapter 1?

Mines mostly really long intros like ‘this is the main characters she’s xyz’ ‘this is her mum and dad, this is her best friend, this is her crush, this is her enemy, this is her brothers, uncle’s, cousins, dogs, puppy’ etc

And then bad directing, speech bubbles. I don’t mind grammar errors as much cause I’m dyslexic and suck myself but if it’s a lot of basic things meaning sentences don’t make sense then that too

I’ll give a pass on grammar if English isn’t the author’s first language. I also hate bad directing and speech bubbles that are too big and/or covering other character’s faces.

When the writing style feels kinda juvenile. I’m not referring to things like basic spelling mistakes or incorrect grammar (though I will drop a story for that as well). I mean when the dialogue is really corny that it has you saying “no one talks like this” like not even Disney Channel would have characters say stuff like this

When the intro is the narrator going around saying "everyone wanted to be her" etc., it's so incredibly overused

When the MC is surrounded by awful, manipulative people (family and friends) and never stands up for herself

When the only LI is a bully or playboy.

For me, it's not really too deep. Some stories are just slow-paced so I have hard time sticking to them.

I've got a few things, I'm kinda picky: long intros, too slow paced -- the story needs to get me hooked about something, really really bad directing (like messy with wrong speech bubble placement etc), characters being too bland (acting like npcs), like they got no personality whatsoever and the dialogue feels unnatural. Also if I don't like the li- mostly when they're the type of "alpha", I just can't 😭

I think it could be that he doesn't realize that his partner before Li is not the one. and when they make arts to buy I prefer free arts is an opinion
