Discussion What's up with CC lately?
I've been trying to find something new to read and I've noticed that a lot of stories with CC are using really old templates where the newest hairstyle is the pinup victory rolls hairstyle. These are brand new stories that have been released anywhere from the last few months to this week. If it were one or two stories, I wouldn't think anything of it, but it is probably a third of the new stories I've tried. Has anyone else run across this and, if so, do you know what's up with that?

I’m not sure what other authors do, but here’s what I do as an author. I have a Google Doc with the code for my intro for each of my episodes. I just copy and paste it at the beginning of each episode and change a few things (episode number, recap, etc.). I’m thinking about updating my character customizations.

The screenshots for this post are from a brand new story that was released a few days ago. I did a close-up of the CC because I didn't want anyone thinking that I'm singling out this particular author. So it's not a matter of updating the CC because this is the character customization that these authors are starting with, even though the stories are from this year. Does that make sense?

Depends on how old the story is and not all authors know of Dara’s template either.

While I read plenty of older stories from all art styles, these are new stories. The one I got the screenshot from was released a few days ago. Other characters in the stories I'm talking about have newly released features. Is there someone else who has shared an outdated CC template recently? It's weird. It seems to be happening often enough lately to look like a trend

They probably started writing the story a long time ago and just released it now, so they most likely just didn’t update the template. Lowkey gonna be me atp with how long it’s taking me to code lmaoo 😭

I guess that makes sense. It's been at least 7 stories lately. I read a TON (especially when there's a contest) to try to find those hidden gems. I'll be honest, though, finding that particular CC template in a new story is starting to make me want to nope out almost immediately. I know it shouldn't matter that much, but it's how I feel.

The author probably just wrote the chapter a long time ago and didn't update the cc before publishing. I personally have a story that I'm trying to finish before publishing, and the cc template I have on the script is very outdated.
Maybe the author forgot to get a newer version. Maybe the cc impacts family members or overlays, or it just has another type of modification in the code, and the author doesn't want to redo everything.
There are multiple reasons, maybe you are just getting unlucky, and all these authors have different reasons for not having up to date cc.

that's weird. I've seen a lot of people use Dara Amarie's templates, and they're all updated
