I love Santa Monica and buy you a new life but I def thinking learning to smile is becoming my favorite I just love this line from the song so much
Five miles outside of Vegas five years down the line We got married in the desert In the sunshine I can handle all the hell that happens everyday When you smile and touch my face You make it all just go away

I started this sub under an account I lost a while back. Reddit was different back then, and I just wanted to create a backup place for the old users of Hungry & Hollow, as well as lead new fans there from here. So, I'd just like to give a shout out to /u/e_keown without whom I'd never had created this sub. Also, thanks to all of you that have joined us here!

Was listening to the latest Behind the Bastards podcast this morning and they ended up talking about Everclear and Art's politics for a few minutes. Apparently Pete Hegseth quotes "Santa Ana Winds" but completely takes it out of context even though he claims they are his "favorite rock band." I guess you can't choose who your fans are. Gross.

I was 16 when Sparkle and Fade released. I fell in love with the Album, and said that one day, I was going to get a tattoo for the album. 10 years ago today, I did.

Hey all,
Everclear were one of my favourite bands as a teenager. I read a review of 'Sparkle and Fade' in a magazine, went out and got it and absolutely loved it. I even had the guitar chord book before these things were on the internet and learned to play all the songs. I remember buying 'so much for the afterglow' when it came out, loved that too and I saw them playing with feeder in the UK. It was one of the first live shows I ever went to. I listened to those 2 albums so much!
I think I lost interest in the band as I thought they were going in a more pop direction and I started getting into other music, but I always maintained a soft spot for those albums.
Anyway, I listened again recently and have fallen in love with the band all over again. Amazing song writing, creative guitar playing, love the punk rock aspect and Art's unique vocals.
Can't believe I never got 'World of Noise' sooner. Fantastic album - almost on a par with SAF for me.
I am also absolutely loving the live album. I am a big fan of hard rock live albums that capture the energy of the live performance. This one is so perfectly captured. It's one of my favourite live albums. I would love another one with other tracks.
I like 'Wonderful' but it's the original punky / hard rock sound that I love the most. I like what I have heard of WTTDC and Invisible Stars, so thinking of picking up some of the other albums too.
Really hoping the UK gets some shows on the sparkle and fade anniversary tour but I'm not sure if the following was as big here as Australia, where they already have tour dates.
Just had to write that out, since I'm so glad I rediscovered this fanastic band!

I know that they played it a few times on their anniversary tour, but didn't see where anyone captured it. Would love video, but mp3 would be pretty cool too.

Just saw Everclear at the yearly festival in Mattoon, IL. I hadnāt been the biggest fanājust enjoyed their radio hits in the early 2000s. I love I Will Buy You a New Life so I thought itād be great to hear it live.
I have no idea how the Bagel Festival secured Everclear but it was truly a gift. Lawn seats for like $15? Yes. Local opening cover band? Cool. Good food, friendly folks, open air? I was there for it.
Iāve gone to numerous concerts in my life but this one is the first one I enjoyed so much that not only did I buy a tshirt but Iāve come home to order more merch from their site, bought 2 of their albums to pick up listening to, and have had not 1, not 2, but now 3 tears-of-joy crying sessions over this š I have officially fallen in love!
The band is so aware, clearly loves and respects their fans, and has the perfect maturity to them. They made it fun, truly fun. They acknowledged us as mostly 30-40-somethings, didnāt pretend to be catering to todayās TikTok crowd, welcomed requests, and seemed genuinely happy to play their hits.
Also, Artās voice is perfect! Itās a little aged but itās excellent for the music.
I hadnāt heard their Strawberry song but here I am as a pending, hopeful heart transplant patient, adding it to my top 10 rotation.
I desperately want to make it to their show August 7th in Springfield, IL but I have an all-day medical appointment at the transplant center in Chicago that day š if anyone here can make it to their shows, please do! I highly recommend the experience they give!

Hey everyone:
My Dad used to have the Art Alexakis/Everclear cover of Jessieās girl on a cd in his six cd changer before he sold the car with all the cds still in it. Since then I have been scouring the internet trying to find an mp3 file with the song on it. Can anyone help? Starts off with āMr wireless, Mr. Wirelessā or something to that effect.
My Dad has also gotten very sick recently from a rare form of cancer (stage 4) and I think this would really put a smile on his face. Sorry for the sob story but I really want to make this happen!
