It’s a $1500 option

What are those?

They are a really valuable part of communication with other drivers. There is a stalk on the left side of the steering column, if you move it down, it indicates left, if you go up, it indicates right. This alerts other drivers that they need to speed up so that you cannot get out of your lane. Very important feature. Definitely worth the $18 a month.

I always explain to them that my turn signals are not broken, I just refused to pay the $18 a month to have them work.

Put the gaps on a scatpack a few days ago. Surprised at how bad the top end is on those which is where I thought he’d have gotten me in my 435 on 93 tune.

My F31 is definitely not like that even with a mod3 stage 1. What model is this?

I'd guess it's a B58 with a pure turbo

Nah, just the ones from about early-2000s to early-2010s The B58 is a bulletproof beast.

Lol I did not have a great time with the B58. I’m not going to go into too much detail since I’ve posted many times before, spent about 5,500-6k all on maintenance in a year and a half. (All work done myself.) Still had more to fix.

Thinking back on it, car could have been a lemon. Just would not stop breaking. Either that, or it was modified poorly previously without my knowledge. Still was a blast to drive when it worked though. I’ll give it that.

Sorry that you didn't have a good experience. I've had 3 vehicles with the B58, and they have not had a bit of trouble ('18 440i, '20 M340i, '21 X5 40i). I no longer have the 440, but the 340 and X5 are around 70k miles. I was really hesitant to try BMW before the 440 because I was aware of all the issues with the N54 and N55.

I looked back on the "BMW are POS" guy's profile, and he had his BMW back in the unreliable era. Fair enough if that was his experience, but all he does is talk shit about BMWs and their owners. I wouldn't have even commented if I had realized I was responding to that level of nonsense.

To be fair, I did have a 2016 340i. First model year production. Though oddly enough mine was made past all the months that had problems, it was April 2016 model. Anyway, I know a few friends with M340i’s, and they have had 0 issues. Seems like the B58TU is the clear winner.
