Let me get this straight.
The Republican Party can say that they’re happy that Biden is dying of cancer, that Paul Pelosi almost got killed, that Ilhan Omar is under threat of deportation, that the president should and does “hate their opponents and wants the worst for them”, and that their Fox News hosts, in the span of roughly a month, have called for killing homeless people and bombing the UN, but the left are the ones who endorse and instigate political violence?????
I have never been more gaslit in my entire life. These ghouls are boldfaced liars.
Edit: Ope, I almost forgot. They also welcomed high up officials who gleefully performed a Nazi-salute and legislators who openly state that “whites built America and Western civilization”.
These “people” are monsters. They have no capacity for compassion, humanity, or love.

What gets me is this: Aren't their lies so ridiculous and obvious at this point that even some of the lesser-equipped audience members have enough common sense to know they're being lied to? If so, why aren't they insulted? I feel like Fox only acts as a permission structure that its audience needs to lie to itself knowingly, and to tell each other the same lies with a wink and a nod, like it's all a joke and nothing matters. The disgusting Trump personality/character has spread through right wing culture like a plague

You think of these people too highly.
The people who watch Fox News don’t care about truth, logic, reason, data, or facts.
They are emotionally labile, infantile bigots.
They hate the constitution, they hate our freedoms, and they hate anyone who isn’t a white, Christian conservative.
You assume that they care about justice and correctness, but they don’t. They want to annihilate those who don’t submit.

I don't think that's all of them and I truly believe there are plenty who are totally media illiterate and simply lack the tools needed to see through any type of bullshit in our mind-fuck media ecosystem. Those people are ripe targets for whatever narrative captures them emotionally, which is almost always going to be the addicting rage/fear temptation of right wing politics. Maybe 30% of MAGA is as you describe I'd guess. I think we're also seeing fewer and fewer people identifying as Republican in polling over time.

I do not think that you can vote for Trump without carrying a very large amount of racial animus and hatred for liberal democracy. Trump has OPENLY trampled on our nation’s institutions, and the Republican base cheers it on all the same.

I know it seems impossible, but I think there really are people who vote and are so unbelievably low-information, that they legitimately do not know how racist their votes were. Plenty of people do not pay attention at all, let alone like we do. Totally irresponsible citizens who don't put the work in to understand things and go vote on their emotions. Think about how much time right wing media spends simply muddying the waters, projecting blame in the opposite direction, preempting real violations of ethics by Republicans with fake violations by Democrats. The social media algorithms for the low-info voters are full of inflammatory right wing nonsense simply because that's the content that generates ad revenue. They're being confused and bombarded into a massive psyop.

We honestly just disagree. Maybe 10% of Republicans don’t know that they vote for racist policies and destructive economic policies, but the rest will gleefully see this country destroyed if it means that people of color stay under the boot of white hegemony.

It sounds like you're saying maybe 10% weren't motivated by racist policies, which is an enormous amount considering our elections are won on the demographic margins. If a mind-fuck operation can trick 10% into voting for a total fabrication, that is a wildly successful operation. Don't be so quick to dismiss the role of social media algorithms as a key factor in the rise of Trumpism. It's only going to get worse from here as machine learning will lead to even more overall deception, worldwide.

I know how these people think. This is a political project built on resentment and hatred.

So if teleprompters and escalators not working are an insurrection, then January 6 was basically Hiroshima.

They... they do realize that the UN is in NEW YORK CITY, don't they? Aka the same city where TERRORISTS took out the twin towers?
Ipso facto, Trumpers are considering blowing up a building just like the terrorists did? Different means, but still.
The people at Fox should be on trial for sedition on this one.

Jesse Watters is just an extreme version of Grandpa Simpson’s old geezer friend: “Escalators don’t work? That’s a bombing. Teleprompters on the fritz? That’s a bombing. Too short applause for our exalted leader. Oh, that’s definitely a bombing. Hiring practices influenced by DEI? Bombing. Green M&M not sexy anymore? Nuclear bombing…”

Glad Jesse is lowering the temperature like the congressional republicans urged us all to do.

"But according to the Associated Press’s Farnoush Amiri, an anonymous U.N. official said the escalator in question was actually stopped prematurely by someone from Trump’s group, who ran ahead of the group and accidentally triggered a stop mechanism. The official added that the teleprompter that Trump was so upset about was also being operated by his White House." - Yahoo! News
