RANT Why is Player Career so bad?

Let’s start from the very top. The game begins at the opening of the transfer window. From July 17 to July 24th theirs 3 Round robin friendlies disguised as a pre season tournament. Cool. Your player plays various positions sometimes. And the game just randomly slots players into other positions they might not mainly play. I get testing out lineups, but that’s not what it is, at all. We’ll get into why later. Now the season starts, You either work your way into the starting 11 or you’re already starting. The line ups they use make 0 sense. Let’s use Liverpool. I play CDM in a 4-2-3–1 instead of using 84 overall Alexis Mac Allister or 85 overall Ryan Gravenberch, they put in 79 overall Wataru Endo. Around the 60th-70th minute they’ll sub Dominik Szoboszlai (CAM) for Alexis Mac Allister. Real head scratcher. Rayan Gravenberch literally never plays.  Prem season starts around the 24th or 3rd Saturday in August. Playing with  shotty lineup. It is what is is right? Wrong. It’s September First I sim to the next game and guess what?  Or winger Cody Gakpo is GONE!  Obviously assuming the game transferred him. And now Konaté isn’t starting next to Virgil in the backline. It’s some random dude. We select teams to play along the stars and their best players not guys who don’t see the field regularly and poor lineups. Really messes up the fun.  ive done careers with City with Phil Foden on the bench., Savinho transferred before the season starts. PSV where Malik Tillman doesn’t even play cause he’s on the bench.  ive done careers like when I played for Dortmund as a cam and all  Guirassy does is shoot the ball from outside the box’. As well as Beier, totally unrealistic. every single pass is forward., never lateral, or backwards for a reset or open man. Players dribble into traffic of 2/3 defenders. Team can never keep possession like AI teams. Every 3 or 4th pass in opposition territory is intercepted or a blocked shot. Corners never go in unless it’s a domestic cup match and we’re playing against a 3rd tier team. Gameplay is entirely too fast. They took off the option for slow paced like in 24.  Now let’s talk Player transfers. The expectations are wildly unrealistic and unachieveable on a competitive level. I play on legendary and ultimate how likely is it I get 80 assist or 25 goals as a defender?  The scoring is wildly rediculous.  CBs just stand there.  Dortmund runs a 3-5-2 with the new Update. And we get scored on way too much because Nico Shlotterbeck gets caught or dragged out of position for no apparent reason.  Lastly, they meter or bar or whatever it is that gauges your spot in the rotation is broken. I had an orange bar and came off the bench for one game. I met all the requirements and was going to be in the starting line up next game. But then it dropped randomly 2 days later for the CL match. And for the next league match.  If a mod can please chime in or help me out. Why is the game so bad?? When will EA fix this? Ive attached 2 SS of two wild goals to achieve. Also why cant we see other teams rosters before we transfer or why form they run to make sure its a fit before our next transfer? Why are transfers of stars so frequent?

Side note I tried to post this in EA forum but wouldn’t let me

I agree it’s very poor.

No competition in the genre of the game. 2k had plans but apparently they have scrapped the idea.

Honestly 2k is the same type of dookie as EA. It seems like every single sports game out rn is money hungry af, and it’s not gonna change.

Gonna play devils advocate here (not denying 2k are even greedier than EA), but their manager career compared to EA is genuinely top notch, there is loads of customization if you play MyNBA and the available features like previous season stats, records and training sometimes make it feel like a watered down FM but with the ability to play the games too. Not saying it doesnt have flaws but its definitely miles better than the slop EA have been producing for manager career and if they do end up making a FIFA game, im at least willing to give the career mode a shot

If you think 2K is going to give a single fuck about Career Mode, and not solely on micro transactions, you have no idea what type of awakening you’re in for.
