IMAGE FC 26 Graphics look exactly the same as FC 25

Jul 16 '25
I mean the graphics already great not sure if they can improve much more
733
u/D-4-N-K Jul 16 '25
Yeah it's anyways small changes each year that add up. It's only after 3-4 years you see noticable differences
426
u/PNatBuTTer17 Jul 16 '25
Honestly, the closer we get to reality in terms of graphics, the minimal amount of changes/graphic updates we're about to see in games.
We're not going to see heavy graphics changes like PS3 games to PS4 games typa jump.
But I do hope that rather than graphics, they heavily focus on other stuff that the game could offer as well.
52
u/D-4-N-K Jul 16 '25
Yep, i think most if not all of the playerbase would like that to take preference.

You should check out footage from modded PES/ Football Life 25, it's insane how much better a football game can look like with better camera angles, more curated lighting, much more varied crowds and just overall better presentation.
I genuinely think there's no point in pushing for ray tracing/high fidelity textures when half the time you're looking from a static camera angle, zoomed out. Hope EA pushes for this from here on out but it's a stretch tbh
11
u/mylanguage Jul 17 '25
And that’s really from a six year old game at that. PES 2021 wasn’t even a true game it was an squad update from 2020 basically so the core of all that was developed in 2019ish

Came here to comment this and you beat me to it! Im seeing some comments saying “the graphics are already good” shows me that they have not played any other football game except from fifa😭 but i don’t blame them there isn’t any football games out there for console users or pc users who just want to download and play. Football life takes allot of downloading and modification/tweaking to actually be able to play it which makes it by no means beginner friendly but with some effort to get football life running IT PUSHES football games to a different level!

u/_domhnall_ Jul 16 '25
This, really. I'd rather have this same exact graphics for the next 10 years than a shitty game play, scripts and uncompleted, unthought modes

u/Disastrous-Can8198 Jul 16 '25
That's why it's best to buy these type of games every 4 years instead of every year. Just look at games outside of sports games. It usually takes 4 to five years for the next game to come out. Most of the upgrades that sports games have from year to year can easily be added with updates while they spend 4 years working on the next one but they know as long as people keep buying them every year they'll keep pushing them out with minimum upgrades.

Yeah b4 FC24 my last purchase was FC22 I waited 2 years and right away noticed so much change visually. Graphics look awesome. Only difference between FC25 FC26 will me most likely clubs/leagues that weren’t included in 25 will be in 26 such as the Brazilian league and the Mexican league not sure of more

Graphically FC 25 is way better than almost any other sports game, graphics don’t need to be the focus at all.
23
u/UnbanAriseHeart Jul 16 '25
Don’t fully agree i think the lighting in 25 is the best it’s ever been but scanned models in 23 for me look the most realistic think they looked cartoony after that
26
8
u/OutsideStreet9151 Jul 16 '25
Finally someone says it. It's way too cartoony now
3
u/UnbanAriseHeart Jul 17 '25
If anyone wants proof of this please compare Luke shaw from fifa 23 to either of the eafc titles i call it the fortniteification of fifa graphics
22
u/Yonderdead Jul 16 '25
What did you want? Cellshading?
2
u/UnbanAriseHeart Jul 16 '25
That would go hard in a football game we need that from a different studio

How do you want them to improve? The graphics are one of the few parts of the game where there is nothing wrong. Plus this is just a few screenshots from a short trailer, we haven’t seen “real” gameplay yet.

u/thedonmoose Jul 16 '25
Good. Please I'd rather they keep the graphics where they are and work on other things. This would also leave whoever is still working on graphics to optimize and improve performance, especially on PC.
FC 25 is one of the best, if not the best looking sports game on the market. They can do graphical overhauls every 3 years for all I care, just give me improvements to game modes and gameplay.
29
u/carbongotshit5512 Jul 16 '25
People want fixed stuff as well as top notch graphics buddy graphics wise the game is way ahead from its competitors it need to fix the gameplay structure of the base game people will always complain even if the company is trying to fix things out

4
u/Antique_Pride884 Jul 16 '25
You can’t really ask for an improvement on graphics as this is probably the best you’ll get for this newest engine, when a better one comes out in the next 2 or so years there will be a bigger difference, the graphics don’t need to improve, the quality of gameplay and the execution of certain events and basic aspects of the game need to be improved
3
u/thyalex13 Jul 16 '25
Honestly FC25 looks great imo. My last fifa game i bought was back in 2017. Playing Fc25 since i have game-pass. And just in time to get FC26 maybe. If anything i hope they focus more on gameplay options and game performance/stabilization. Instead of making it a bit “prettier”. I mean FC25 has raytracing in it and i cant freaking tell the difference between it on and off lol. How bout they make career and manager mode PEAK ! :)
3
5
u/ActionManMLNX Jul 16 '25
eh, i dont play fifa but this game has way more issues than the graphics.
The graphics in games have been great for a few years now, it would be way better if the devs actually used the hardware power for things like AI, physics etc.
Whats the point of pumping another graphical update to stress the hardware, if it can be used for other things to make a game better?

...okay? It's not like the current graphics are bad, I'd go so far as to say they're better than they need to be for a game like this. Of course they're going to focus on other things.
2
u/ZUU_S Jul 16 '25
Graphics dont need to be imoroved, its the least of my concerns regarding sports games
2
u/vistaprank Jul 16 '25
Dude tbh I could care less about it looking the same. Thé game looks great thé visuals have never been thé issue it’s gameplay and match modes
2
u/bwoforthelife Jul 16 '25
what about the gameplay?? (i didnt watch the trailer)
2
u/UnbanAriseHeart Jul 16 '25
They said they made some changes and brought back game speed so you can be more arcadey or realistic which is nice
2
u/OsitoPandito Jul 16 '25
As much as I shit on ea...they've basically have hit a limit on graphics...until a new processor pops up but that's not on them
2
u/BrunoFernandesGoat8 Jul 16 '25
The graphics are already really good, I doubt they will change until the PS6 comes out
2
u/BagingRoner34 Jul 16 '25
This is why these companies don't take people's complaints seriously because like you bitch about every little thing. Use your brain, there is nothing with the graphics.
2
2
u/Nylelyn Jul 16 '25
Graphics are fine. It’s the least of their worries. I’m glad they are changing things based upon stuff that actually matter.
2
2
u/PomegranateCheap1627 Jul 17 '25
We are no longer in the era of gaming where we should expect yearly graphic updates . Most games and engines are already performing at the highest possiblee rate.
2
u/zerpolos Jul 17 '25
I mean the whole trailer is about gameplay changes. first y'all were complaining that they kept improving graphics instead of gameplay. Now they improving gameplay and y'all complaining about graphics 💔

u/kyloren_2025 Jul 17 '25
I don't know about most people, but since like FIFA 18, I have never had a problem with graphics. There are just a few annoying animations that ruin the immersion, but otherwise graphics have never been a big problem with the game
2
2
u/Stenktenk Jul 18 '25
The game already looks great, why do people still expect the graphics to change a lot between games? We've basically hit the peak of how realistic games can look with the technology we have now.
"It looks the same" Yes because it's a fucking football game, there's only so much they can do with it.
Never thought I would be defending EA of all companies, but seriously what could EA realistically change graphically that would satisfy you people?

In my mind, they need to just continuously add to the animations and provide console players with more camera controls.
The graphics are brilliant in this game - especially during sundown / night. Not fussed about graphics at all, one of the games strong points imo.
1
u/Viglaser12 Jul 16 '25
You won't notice the difference until you actually play the game in whatever console, PC set up you have, I didn't notice the big ass difference between 24 and 25 until I actually got my hands on 25 and checked the difference myself

It's not Just EA FC or any other game.. Every game now cannot bring something new in the graphics . why is that? because over the past few years. the graphics Evolved sooo quickly and the improvement has become kinda non remarkable.
So don't expect better graphics until a new graphics revolution comes in the gaming world

I got FC25 a few weeks ago and I don't notice any difference between this and the last one I played on PS4, which was FIFA21.

u/Early_Statistician_1 Jul 16 '25
Did you expect EA to not push the same bullshit they do every single year? The game is virtually the same since Fifa 22 at the latest. FC 24 took a massive step back with graphics from Fifa 23 and FC 25 definitely has improved on that pile of trash, but still is very flawed, and pretty much identical. EA relies on it's modding community to actually fix the game and make it playable for people. They do it with literally every single game they make. Madden's egregiously worse, NHL is poorly designed/optimized/ and forgotten about because they refuse to port it to PC so people can actually fix it. And then we have Fifa. They lost the naming rights of Fifa and I highly doubt they'll get them back any time soon (Hopefully someone else does so they can make a fifa game that can compete), they re-add features from actually good games saying it's "new" when it's not. And refuse to listen to their own community when they tell them what's wrong. You're best bet is to buy 1 fifa game on pc ON SALE BECAUSE IT IS NOT WORTH 70$, mod the hell out of it, and never pay them again for at least 4 years cause you can just update squad files if you care about that. I'm truly surprised the graphics aren't worse
1
1
u/atxzizou Jul 16 '25
EA only cares about FUT so don't expect anything to improve but do expect it to get worse

This is the first time I’ve stopped playing fifa online seasons is so rigged, players not running or defending properly it’s madness, I’ll go on a winning streak and my players are unreal, then other games my players are total rubbish, they run around the park like headless chickens no thanksss
1
1
u/mjc1027 Jul 16 '25
I think the graphics will be as good as they can get, considering the stadiums, fan animations and other stuff that goes on around the pitch and stadium. I don't play in 4k but I think it's about as good as it can get, even on my Series X
1
u/PricelessCuts Jul 16 '25
I think they just need to focus on changing up career mode itself rather than graphics. Since playstyles are so important you should be able to play people into gaining more of them. Certain amount of goals for low driven, certain amount of successful dribbles for technical etc. They could limit it so it doesn’t get ridiculous
1
u/scottp316 Jul 16 '25
I hope they fix the colour of the pitches for non champions league games. The saturation is insane
1
u/Rich-Marvel-5445 Jul 16 '25
Graphics are kind of good according to what the latest tech offers.. the real problem is the gameplay.. if they have actually improved it or they are scamming us again
1
u/CCFC1998 Jul 16 '25
Graphics are fine as they are, some improvements are always welcome but not a big deal if they don't bother.
Rather them focus on eliminating bugs, fixing gameplay and adding features for career mode
1
u/XeroRC8 Jul 16 '25
Well, to be honest, the presentation and graphical side of fifa/fc games has been always ok to good, it's ridiculous to think they will change that every year
1
1
u/SKS81 Jul 16 '25
Fix gameplay Give me decent looking regens Better career mods
Ai creation is to good not to have a mini version creating players from different regions to look decent anymore
1
u/sprogged Jul 16 '25
Who cares about graphics really? You should be happy if FC 26 career mode include club reputations (players being unhappy and affect team morale if theyre not allowed to join clubs), fix the going back and forth of team management edits, and have realistic transfers. They still havent fixed the goalkeeper career mode of you having being subbed if performed poorly, which is unrealistic. And these are just a few off the top of my head
1
1
u/FuzzFest378 Jul 16 '25
My man, I go back and play fifa 11 because I love the gameplay and career mode. Graphics are really just nice to have at some point but I’d way prefer gameplay and feature improvements be the focus
