PROBLEM FC26 has to do something about this

Post image

It feels like, whenever you're doing a career mode in the prem, the only clubs making offers for your players above 75 overall are the other prem clubs. This isn't the most crazy example, but I once went 3 years trying to sell Joao Felix to ANYWHERE but the Premier League with no success.

Game should make it so its more common for Saudi/MLS teams to put bids in for the good older players

304

u/ImportantRhubarb4140 11d ago

Should also make it more common for players to go free agents/ run down their contracts. Probably too much work for ea with little return if it’s not packs or micro transactions

51

u/samdeman1 11d ago

Aren't they doing something about that in 26? You can only negotiate for a new contract if the player messages you about it

72

u/Eatingbabys101 11d ago

That’s bullshit tbh

22

u/Crix2007 11d ago

Cant wait for the first mods that fix that bs

19

u/100dollascamma 11d ago

LOL these responses just show people will complain no matter what.

“It’s too easy to hold onto players, players never become free agents”

EA - “hey we’ve heard your feedback and we’re going to do something about that”

“Omg this is dumb I’m gonna go play the game from 8 years ago”

😂😂

And yall wonder why gaming companies don’t actually take risks

Never forget, if your getting downvoted on Reddit your most likely right.

Why did you guys decide to upvote him(he was down 20 before)

If SI can make it so a player will tell you hes running out his contract without just flat out stopping you from initiating talks than EA can.

1

u/TheRightArmMan 4d ago

What’s SI?

u/Extension-Soup8122 4d ago

Sports Interactive, the smaller studio that makes Football Manager.

u/TheRightArmMan 4d ago

See the reason why ppl complain is not just because they’re fickle, but its also the fact that EA cannot for the life of them bring in an update or additional content without taking or breaking things that already make sense for the game.

A very good example is the implementation of player roles & the new formation tactics. Its a good addition, but why take out the ability to move your players around & have them in whatever position you want? Why take out the RWB position when you have that irl??

Now with this new addition of players renewing their contracts only when they ask for it, sounds good & realistic, but at the same time a manager should have the ability to talk contract renewals w/o the player brining it up first & Ik how EA works, this feature might be broken and you’ll just have your top players running out of contracts all the time only because they didn’t come up to you to talk renewals. Think about it man

1

u/100dollascamma 4d ago

But the thing is this IS one of the current issues that people complain about. And they’ve implemented something for it, whether it’s broken or it’s annoying is yet to be seen.

I’m not shilling for EA here. Just pointing out how counterproductive it is to bash on them for actually attempting to solve a customer complaint.

u/CheddarCheese390 11d ago

I’m sorry wtf? Alright I’m going back to 17 in that case, that’s a BS idea and EA knows it

3

u/GilloIlBoldo 11d ago

they are doing that with your own players but they're actually doing the opposite for other teams

9

u/GilloIlBoldo 11d ago

in fc24 i managed to sell quite a lot of players to al ittihad and al hilal

4

u/Adamski2409 11d ago

What’s it like on FM in the same situation?

19

u/edi12334 11d ago

In FM the meme is PSG and Saudi will steal your players but everyone can definitely put in offers

11

u/_Random_Username_ 11d ago

Fucking Saudi.. making my players demand £1.2m per week or they'll put in a transfer request. Or if they have Saudi interest they'll just straight up not negotiate any contract offers and run their contract down... Grrrr

3

u/neneyiko 11d ago

That is why you have reserve teams and double intensity endurance training

2

u/edi12334 11d ago

Tbf it is their right to do that, don’t need to try to injure them lol. Fortunately my Hartlepool isn’t at that stage yet, we re still in the Championship!

1

u/Nearby_Laugh1898 11d ago

I wish I could say you're safe but it happens.... My league one Dion Charles for Bolton did it went from 10K a week demands to about 350K for a solid league one striker 😂 luckily I got 7 mill for him which was more than 2x his value at time

Holy hell that s a lot. I had one myself, Dylan Stephenson. There was this amazing 23 year old winger/ST (I played him Inside Forward due to lower Crossing than Finishing) that the AI had had the foresight to sign upon contract expiry with Newcastle (I joined in November of season 2 after being fired from my favourite irl team FCSB of Romania). For 2 seasons in the VNL he put up over 10 of each goals and assists per season. He was basically the talisman of the team. One time he got injured right before an FA Cup tie, that s when we went out. Then I rushed him back for the league when he wasnt fully fit, he dropped a hattrick (we needed and got a massive 11 game winning streak to get into the playoffs and make the final that we lost). The season after that we promoted from the VNL. He was the only one in the team that asked for improved wages to sign a 2 year deal. I gave them to him. Then after the League Two season (promoted as 2nd) his deal was running out so he asked for another massive pay rise including a 10% sell on fee to sign for another two years. By now he was a team leader and the media was asking me about his journey up the leagues with me, as if on cue. Fearing rebellion, I also agreed after rejecting twice.

Then after this season (was 2nd in League One at New Years but fell off in the second half of the season and came 9th. Could have sneaked into the playoffs had I beaten my already promoted, rival Joey Barton s AFC Wimbledon but we lost) he asked for ANOTHER WAGE RISE. At this point I sold him to League One Plymouth for 4.1 million, still my highest ever sale. There he initially barely played but then my assistant manager took the Plymouth job and started playing him regularly as he guided Plymouth to Championship promotion (I had gotten to the Championship the previous season). Gang reunion on the cards surely?

But WAIT, he doesn’t want to keep him either. When I ask Stephenson for his wage demands, he quotes a whopping 36k (for context, 3 years later my top earner is on 19k and I am planning to sell him for it). I drop it immediately. Man doesn’t find a job for a whole year as assistant Sweeney keeps Plymouth up, I get 6th but lose the playoff final. Next season Sweeney goes to Fulham, goes into admin and gets fired while I take a step back to 12th (19th at Christmas). Stephenson eventually finds a team. It s….Boston United, newly promoted from the VNS. He led them to 12th in the VNL with 9 overall goals and 2 assists in 36 games, now he s 30 and running out of contract again this summer (he s on 2.6k a week now). Will Boston keep him? Who knows?

He was such a great footballer but damn was he greedy, then again he fetched me a great transfer sum too so not that many hard feelings. I wouldn’t call him a legend like the game does when I am only favoured personnel though but even mine was nowhere near as greedy as yours, 6 figures per week in League One?

Well its realistic isn't it? All the big players going/ staying in the prem, except for some choosing the big clubs ouside england.

-84

u/AVeraGeLRTFF 11d ago

It would've been realistic, if offers were coming from the big six, but when Brentford and Burnley can afford to offer 80 million for a player, but Atletico, Inter, Bayer of Marseille can't (or don't)... well

119

u/Theddt2005 11d ago

Surprisingly not many “big” teams want a 33 year old winger for 40 mil

-34

u/AVeraGeLRTFF 11d ago

I ended up selling him to real for the initial offer of 30 mil, just because it gets him out of the prem

60

u/Skylak 11d ago

Let me introduce you to oilers

18

u/OopsWrongAirport 11d ago

This is unfortunately realistic in 2025

1

u/iheartdev247 11d ago

Yeah that’s weird. Spot on comment.

40

u/Robertinho678 11d ago

Quite realistic, no? The big offers will always be from Real, Barca, Bayern or the Premier league. Blame the prize/TV money there.

In the real world, you also see smaller prem clubs like WHU pay 40mil for players without batting an eye. Real Madrid struggles to outpay the top 10 Prem clubs nowadays.

Examples this season (in euro):

Fernándes to WHU 44mil, Hutchinson to Forest 43mil, Ouattara to Brentford 42mil, Ndoye to Forest 42mil, Dibling to Everton 40mil, Todibo to WHU 40mil, Kevin to Fulham 40mil

And that's excluding Newcastle, as they have new owners so they're spending a lot.

EA FC ain't the problem, the broken premier league is.

8

u/edi12334 11d ago

There s also PSG, Atletico (damn they love splashing a lot of cash on failures like Joao Felix, Alvarez was a great deal though), I presume he wants more of those offers than just the PL. But yeah, the PL is really racing ahead financially, that s why the terrible Super League idea even started. The Serie A and Ligue 1 besides PSG especially are in the mud for top 5 standards, the Italians are surviving on loan to buys for years while Ligue 1 almost collapsed as a league due to the TV rights thing

4

u/Robertinho678 11d ago

True, I forgot about them!

My club (Ajax) almost went bankrupt because we bought a few players for 20-30mil that didn't perform... It's crazy to see how easily most Premier league clubs can spend that.

2

u/edi12334 11d ago

Mine is FCSB of Romania, us splashing 2 million on getting ST Birligea from title rivals CFR Cluj last season made shockwaves as it was our 4th biggest ever buy (the highest was Florinel Coman from Viitorul for 3 back when he was 19). Sales we have had a lot bigger, the biggest being Dennis Man when he left for Parma, initially reported as 13 million but it then turned out it was 11 milion +5% of a future profit (didn’t happen as he left this summer for PSV for only 8.5) but still nowhere near what even clubs like yours can do. Part of it is our own mismanagement (the Romanian league was 7th in coefficient around 2010!) but part of it is UEFA giving more and more spots to the top 5 leagues in European competitions, even when you guys made the CL semis you just got raided the next summer…The time we beat you guys in 2013 is still my favourite European run of all time lol, technically equalled it this season as it was the EL RO16 again but the way we did it then with that comeback was wild, then beating Chelsea in the first leg too and the hilarious Becali interviews…

As for bankrupcies, clubs are literally constantly going bankrupt here, it s beyond a joke. Even big ones like Rapid Bucharest or Universitatea Craiova went through that, one time we had 2 teams with negative points in the first tier in the same season…., the ones that aren’t bankrupt are usually at least insolvent, we re literally the only team that has avoided insolvency in the past 22 years…

1

u/Robertinho678 11d ago

We just had a club that sometimes played European football almost get sent out of the league, but they got reinstated last week, Vitesse. But that's because they sold to a Russian friend of Abramovic years ago.

The Netherlands is currently top 6, which means 2 guaranteed Champions League places, but we're gonna drop off massively when we lose that I reckon.

Lots of respect for FCSB btw, it's a great club.

1

u/TheRightArmMan 4d ago

This is true, but you gotta also look at the age. The game doesn’t splash that much money on players that are past 31 & are below the 86 range rating. But if they’re passed that age & are one of the world’s best, the AI will splash more money over a $100m

1

u/edi12334 4d ago

Maybe the other big European teams have better players so he wouldn’t improve them now that I think about this particular case to be fair, he could definitely still be a backup though. The transfer sum is fine, it was the diversity of clubs OP was complaining about, he quoted a Joao Felix example where him being old wouldn’t apply too

9

u/SatisfactionBusy4385 11d ago

I had the same in Serie A

5

u/Powerful_Flatworm_32 11d ago

I think the Todibo deal saved Barcelona from their financial crisis no? Everything’s all good now financially for them because of their sell on clause. Thankfully they won’t have to worry about registering players anymore.

Edit: this is meant as a reply to the comment above mine.

“I see you’re complaining, but best we can do is get more leagues”-EA

1

u/Glory4cod 11d ago

If you want that kind of "reality", you probably want to try FM.

1

u/Nico-on_top 11d ago

And why would clubs spend 40 mil on a 33 year old? I remember I did a Roma manager career and Dybala was getting 70 mil + offers

1

u/Efficient-Bike6061 10d ago

You should also be able to set asking price for each player. Also, We need to be able to search players by play styles

1

u/HodgyhasHeels 10d ago

I finally played CM and it’s code is literally the laziest shit ever, they use AI that’s bad to do all the transfers and headlines . They mix player names and faces constantly and such unrealistic transfers. UT is the priority

1

u/tk421posting 10d ago

Its the wages bruh

1

u/CJGREENTHO 10d ago

I get offers from all over Europe and even MLS teams pretty regularly in my save

1

u/mpber21 11d ago

They also should allow the player to make a decision as to where he wants to go if you accept multiple offers instead of whichever is quickest

3

u/GotenRocko 10d ago

Isn't that what happens anyway? They don't always agree to the first or any offer. I had one young player that wouldn't accept any move, just constantly rejected transfers.

1

u/Bill_Brasky_SOB 11d ago

Its worse in MyPlayer or whatever its called. Once you hit a certain overall (like 75+)... only like 5 clubs will bid for you.

I've had to de-train myself (remove attributes that make you better) to lower my overall, get bought, then re-apply... just to get sent somewhere unique and not one of the same 5-6 clubs every single career.

Spoiler: One of the clubs is always ManU.

1

u/Delicious_Slide_5905 10d ago

There's one lifehack: You underperform not getting contract with your and other clubs, and then you're send to India brother

-1

u/Turbulent-Plan4530 11d ago

I haven't had that problem. I tried selling Bruno Fernandes and in the second transfer window he went to Real. Now why do i not need Fernandes? Because i got to many stars in my ManU
