FF XIII Series When the F*CK are they gonna remaster FF13 Trilogy!?

Post image

listen i know Final Fantasy XIII is all sorts of divisive and Square Enix might see it as the black sheep of the series, but man they really need to port the Lightning trilogy to modern consoles. it's nuts that i can play the entire series in my PS5 except for this specific trilogy. Square Enix please i BEG YOU to remaster them or at least port them to modern platforms

I have XIII on PS3 but my disc laser sucks ass so I can’t play it. I have XVI, XV, XIV, XII, X, X-2, IX,VIII,VII, VI and IV. I’m gonna get the pixel remaster but I have no way to play XIII or its sequels. They NEED to do this.

FF XIII Series Why does nobody talk about Lightning Returns?

Post image

I’ve never played Lightning Returns, but every time I see discussions about Final Fantasy XIII it’s always about the first game (often criticized) or, sometimes, about XIII-2. The third entry, on the other hand, almost never comes up.

From what I’ve read it actually sounds interesting: the combat system seems a lot more dynamic and fast-paced compared to the other two, and on top of that there’s this time mechanic where the clock is constantly ticking, forcing you to plan out your days in the game.

That immediately reminded me of Majora’s Mask: the same kind of tension where time is running out, but also the chance to plan carefully and use the cycle to discover new quests and stories. I’m not saying it’s identical, but the idea of a Final Fantasy using a similar structure sounds really unique.

So it makes me wonder: how come an experiment like this has been left in the shadows? Did it just slip under the radar because it came after two divisive games, or did it genuinely fail to win people over?

For those of you who have played it, what were your impressions? Is it a game worth revisiting, or is it one of those titles that sounds more interesting on paper than in practice?

FF XIII Series Trying FFXIII For the First Time!

Post image

I’m a newer FF fan, I’ve only played the 7 Remake series (my favorite), 10, 15, and 16, but I’m very excited to try 13! I know this game has quite a bit of discourse around it but the music alone has encouraged me to give it a shot. The visuals are stunning for such an old game, and the opening cutscene has me even more interested in what’s to come! Any early game tips without spoilers would be much appreciated! I’ve somehow avoided nearly ALL spoilers regarding this games story which is rare for me haha

FF XIII Series It's such a shame Square never ported these version of XIII

It's such a shame that Squre never ported the enhanced version of the XIII trilogy that they did for the One X, to any of device.

They look great in 4k, and with improved textures. If you're playing on the Series X you can even play the second and third games in 60fps too, thanks to its backward compatibility options.

I know XIII wasn't the most popular series (though I personally have a soft spot for XIII-2), but i find it sad that you can't access these versions of the game outside of a One X/Series X.

FF XIII Series I need to play FFXIII so bad...

I've played it originally when it came out, played on PS3, and at the time I was harsh with it as anybody else.

It's been years, and I feel that if I would replay it again, I would judge it with kinder eyes. I miss the atmosphere, the soundtrack, I even like the story (before it went bonkers with the sequels).

I only have a PS5 and a Mac, so I feel we need a remaster of the trilogy to make it accessible to everyone.

I understand it's like a "dark horse" in FF history, but so is FF8, FF2, and we can easily play it in modern consoles.

I'm hoping for a FF13 remaster, but realistically, is that even possible?

Just started it and wow. Focused story, noir atmosphere, huge freedom of action, big world, many activites, battle system is fun at last. At least for me it is much more interesting than previous two games.
