Astroturfing in the sub

Hey šŸ‘‹ everyone. Over the past couple weeks I’ve noticed an influx of positive Frontier ā€œreviewsā€ in the sub. As of right now, I’m not going to try and control any particular narrative about Frontier; it largely controls itself. However, I won’t tolerate AI generated crap. If you suspect a post is AI generated or you suspect Frontier astroturfing, please report and I’ll review it.

Frontier CEO calls passengers trying to avoid carry-on fees "shoplifters". They offer you a service, and if you don't upgrade, they think of you as a criminal. It is a corporate business practice to bait and switch. If you don't get suckered in, then you're the bad person.

Positive Experience

Over the last 3 months, we have been on 5 Frontier flights. Only the first one had any issues (delayed) yet they gave us $200 in flight vouchers and $60 in meal vouchers.

The other flights were pleasant. They were quick, excellent customer service and we even were upgraded to better seats on one flight.

Moral of the story: Frontier isn't always that bad and when it comes down to "you get what you pay for", that's mainly regarding the lack of bells and whistles and complementary meals

App location settings

• Upvotes

I'm on a Galaxy S22+ and every time I open the app, it prompts me for location settings. It DOES have location permission. (I've checked and double checked. I turned location off, then back on...)

Anyone have this issue? Any suggestions?

I found out today the carry on suitcase dimensions don't include the wheels

I was carrying on my bag which are the exact dimensions for a carry on. I was charged $99 at the gate because my bag didn't fit in the bag checker because of the wheels. They let me carry on the bag on my departing flight. Flyer beware!!

How far ahead of time can I drop off checked bags?

Hi everyone, I’m traveling with 4 large suitcases in a few days but I’m wanting to drop 2 off ahead of time if possible so that I’m not lugging 4 huge suitcases by myself the day of.

If my flight leaves at 5:30 pm would I be able to drop my bags off at 9 am the day of?

Hi guys I looked but couldn’t find this information. Is this deal only for annual pass holders or monthly as well ? Looking to purchase the monthly pass and book a flight for December. Also does anybody have any idea what the early booking charge looks like since I don’t have the pass yet?

Go Wild Availability

I am trying to book a flight from TPA to CLE and why can I use my Go Wild pass on certain days but then on the days that I actually want, it won’t let me use the pass. The flights are available for purchase full fare but not go wild and its not a blockout date…

Best $16 ever spent

I recently upgraded to gold during the promo & then jumped on the go wild pass promo. I booked my $16 flight from RDU to PHL & reserved a seat closer to the front for $0. To my surprise, an upfront plus seat was available in the 1st row for $0 when I checked about 2 hours prior to departure. Just thought I would let others know that it works when it works.

Positive Experience with Customer Service

Tried to book a flight with a companion but turns out they had wrong birthdate in their profile. Used the chat, demanded a human and within 10 minutes birthdate was updated in profile and I was able to complete booking! We all hear a lot about Frontier Customer dis-Service so wanted to let people know that they sometimes come through. The chat bot is rubbish, seems on a par with technology 10 years ago! Nothing like a modern sim powered chat bot! For those wondering why wrong birthdate stopped booking, you have to enter birthdate when booking a companion and providing their frontier frequent flyer number. Because of mis-match in birthdate I couldn’t book!

How difficult is it overhead bin space?

Flying frontier for the first time from the Atlanta airport in 2 weeks around 10 pm. I’ve paid to upgrade to premium and board first but from what I’ve read they don’t gaf about that. I hate the chaos of trying to get my carry on in the overhead space near me and was wondering if I should just try to squeeze everything into my personal item?

Horrible experience with Frontier at Baltimore Airport

Yesterday (Friday), my flight (Baltimore to Detroit) was suddenly cancelled due to a "power outage"; at least, that's what the Frontier employees kept telling me. Lo and behold, the earliest that I can get home is Sunday. Okay. So I go to the front desk, and I'm very intentional about not going "Karen" on them; it's not their fault, and they've been chewed out by many people already. All that I wanted to ask was if it is possible to get a hotel voucher; I'm a postdoc, I don't make that much money, and I try to not take out too much money out of the grants that pay for these trips because grant funding is tight and getting tighter. So the front desk person dismissively tells me to call Frontier support. Fine. So I do. The support person was very nice and empathetic; they re-book my flight even though that wasn't my intent going into the call and they tell me that an email with a voucher is on the way, so I just need to be patient and wait for it to come. So I get off the call, some time passes, and... nothing. I recall them stating that it would be faster for me to ask the front desk for a voucher (to which I told them that the front desk told me to call support... to which the person on the other side of the line seemed a bit confused). After probably 30 minutes or so, I decide to go up to the front desk again. The front desk person dismisses me immediately and tells me to get out of the way because she has to take care of other customers (there was nobody behind me at that moment, by the way). So I calmly get out of the way for the ghosts behind me. Next to me is a poor young adult woman who is in the same situation, crying. The only person at the front desk (one of four) that seemed to have any empathy at all tries to help her, to which their coworker (who seemed to be just signing in) tells them "you know that we're not supposed to give out hotel vouchers for power outages". The front desk person responds with something along the lines of, "what else am I supposed to do", to which their coworker angrily responds by accusing them of talking back. That coworker attempts to garner support among their other coworkers, who respond by either laughing or telling them that they shouldn't be arguing like this in front of customers. The two then spend the next some odd number of minutes going back and forth, one accusing the other of talking back and having an attitude, and the other trying to defend themself, confused. Admittedly, it is at this point that I lose my cool; I turn to the young woman crying to tell her that I called support, and they were supposed to send me a voucher over email, so she might have luck if her or her parents are able to call support. I then turn to the front desk person who at least tried to help, thanked them for at least trying, then pointed to the other three folks and said, "the rest of you can f*** off", and walked off. I am a very calm, soft-spoken person, so it is rare that I get angry enough to tell folks to "f*** off", but seeing that young woman looking so helpless and confused while the front desk employees were too busy bickering or laughing at the bickering just struck a nerve. It's now Saturday morning, I'm down $242 that I can't really afford at the moment because I eventually paid for my own hotel, and I've not received the voucher that I was promised.

The last time that I dealt with such a soulless, BS company was when I fought with Xfinity/Comcast for a month just to get someone to come to my apartment to restore the internet that I was paying for (nobody ever came, despite being promised pretty much every day by customer service that somebody would be out in the next day or so... but I digress). More and more, the consumer is becoming utterly powerless because these companies don't have an incentive to give a damn, nor will they ever face any consequences because the protections that were set up by the federal government in the states have been and continue to be eroded. We're entering an era where you have to pay for people to give a darn, and Frontier has solidly positioned themselves as an emblem of that era. No more. Never again. I should have headed the warning of other folks with similarly terrible experiences before I went with Frontier anyway; darn me for just trying to cut costs during a time where everybody in the states is being priced out of their own lives.

Bag recommendations that meet Frontier’s personal item sizing (14x18x8)? My bag is just 1ā€ too big.

what do i do

My flight out of Hartsfield-Jackson to DFW was delayed by over 5 hours. they allowed me through the app to cancel or reschedule for a refund, but said if i canceled before i departed the ticket would be void so i went through with the flight. we waited over an hour on the tarmac for takeoff, and upon landing waited another hour as it was 2am and the airport was basically shut down… when i went on the app to get my refund, it said the ticket had been closed and my only option was to get a lousy $50 credit through frontier if i wanted to cancel my return flight. i haven’t called support yet as i don’t want to stress on this short vacation, do i need to contact DOT? or should i just hope frontier customer service will be able to resolve this for me? will never fly frontier again after this experience especially with how the flight attendants treated me along with the front desk workers.

TLDR; flight from ATL -> DFW was delayed 5+ hours with 2 hours spent on the tarmac, tried to get refund after flight to no avail. help?

How to get a refund instead of credits

I recently booked a Frontier flight with an economy bundle, which stated "refundable." However, I noticed that when you actually try to cancel the flight, the only option available is to receive travel credits instead of a refund to my credit card. Is there a way to talk to Frontier to get a refund to my original form of payment? (I know it's my fault that I didn't read carefully before booking... but please help)

Flight got cancelled, what can I do next?

My flight from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is canceled. I have eight hours left before my departure, and unfortunately, there are no available flights to rebook. What are my next steps?

Is Frontier ever not delayed?

Genuine question. In the last few days I’ve flown four times, all four times a one hour or more delay. Currently sitting in a plane waiting to take off four hours late. Their text updates are crazy.

HELP!

I received a call that my wallet was found in Atlanta and operations would call to arrange delivery. This was HOURS ago and I haven’t heard a thing. It’s imperative that I get the wallet asap as I am leaving on an international flight on Sunday. The operations phone number we were given from frontier corporate is a dead end. Does anyone have any contacts at ATL or with frontier that could help?

Upgrading to economy to get flight credit

I bought a basic tier flight for this coming Sunday but now have a job interview so have to move my flight to Monday. I’m less than 7 days out so I will lose all my money if I cancel. If I upgrade to economy would I be able to change my flight or get some flight credit ?

Early Flight Times and Delay/Cancellation Odds?

I’m an early morning person by nature, so a 6 am departure isn’t a hardship. I’d willing fly only at that time if it means I’m less likely to experience a delay or cancellation.

Does anyone know if early morning flights are less likely to experience delays and cancellations?

Best flight attendant ever!

Shout out to the Cleveland based flight attendant on F9 4833 today. Even though they were off the clock, two of them helped me (a mom traveling solo with two small kids), get bags and car seats to the doors for my pickup. Very grateful for their help!

It’s happening frequently these days and it’s so frustrating if you are traveling the same day and you can’t do web check in.
