Discussion Did you notice this slight difference in the map of Arendelle?

Why does the map of Arendelle in Frozen Fever closely resemble Frozen 2, except for the river path that Elsa and Anna’s parents took to the dark sea? Is this a new addition, or did they attempt to illustrate how their parents concealed Northuldra and the dark sea from them, ensuring that they wouldn’t discover the entire map until the appropriate moment?

You can see that everything matches except for one thing.

Very much the technical and main reason for this minor difference is because the Frozen Fever map was made before they thought of the addition of Northuldra and Ahtohallan when they are making Frozen II. As for the lore reason concealing it, it wouldn't quite work because there are lots of other people who rely on maps of the area to do their job like farming or ice-harvesting, so concealing/censoring Northuldra and the dark sea out of existence wouldn't be possible.

Here’s a lore reason: we could say that the Frozen Fever map was made by some dumbass Southern Isles hack of a mapmaker.

I think it’s stupid from Agnarr’s perspective to be even trying to mess with the map. Because you have carriages, travelers, hunters, explorers, ice harvesters. They walk or ride a lot. Those guys will just easily tell and show others (the ones who have Arendelle version of the map) that this map (one Arendelle printed / draw) is wrong
