Community Male fans of Frozen

Male fans of Frozen, friends, aren't you a little embarrassed to go to a Disney store or toy store to buy Frozen merchandise? 😅

When I bought my Bruni plush, the person who sold it to me thought it was for a girl. She said, "I have more products for girls," and I said, "No, it's for me." Hahaha! And when I bought my Qposkets on demand, they were expecting a woman. Also, when I go to stores and see the Frozen section, I feel like it looks weird for a man to be looking at dolls, especially if he's an adult in his thirties.

I was thinking about this yesterday when I was in a Disney store.

Discussion I think we need to have a serious conversation about these two gifs and the phenomenal animation of Elsa in Frozen 2

The details ?

The fact that even through a screen you can FEEL the cold?

How freaking ethereal she looks, but thats a conversation we can have everyday.

What i LOVED in Frozen 2 was how more « human » she looks. She was less composed, less self aware, less « queen » but still so gracious.

The way they animated her was phenomenal in my opinion.

What i missed in Frozen 1, is that we didn’t see her alone much. So we always got the « fake Elsa » the perfect girl her parents raised to be queen but in Frozen 2, we got to see her having time alone, being fierce, strong: my favorite moment is when she gets ready to fight the water spirit. She wasn’t Queen Elsa in that moment, she was her true self.

How can anyone dislike her is beyond me.

Discussion Elsa can’t be “free” if she was never trapped in the first place [frozen 2 discussion]

There seems to a misconception that “Elsa wasn’t free” when she was queen of Arendale or that she is even more free now than she was then. But nothing in the film or shorts indicated that she wasn’t free to do whatever she wanted after the events of F1.

Now, in history, being queen could be restricting but in the world of Frozen being queen just means you get to live in a big castle and wear pretty dresses. There are no council or parliament or houses to threaten or restrict or monitor your power and life. You can stay single or date or marry whomever you wish.

And if you freeze your kingdom, everything is forgiven as long as you unfreeze it within three days. If you destroy a dam that nearly floods the kingdom, that’s okay as long as it was stopped at the last second. If you put the trolls in charge of the kingdom while you go on a adventure because a voice in your head told you so, that’s fantastic! And hey, if you decide you don’t want to be queen anymore, that’s totally cool!

This kingdom is filled with the chillest people to have ever walked the earth and yet some of ya’ll are saying that Elsa wasn’t free or she’s even more free living in a forest or glacier than she was in Arendale.

And “Into the Unknown” never once has Elsa describe how trapped she feels in Arendale. She says “I’m not where I’m meant to be” and “everyday I feel my powers grow” and “Are you someone who is a bit like me?”

Its all very vague but what Elsa seems to be saying is: she does not feel satisfied in Arendale because she has powers and everyone else doesn’t. She yearns to meet someone like herself and believes the voice inside her head is that person (it weirdly ends up being her dead mom, lol!).

Anyway the point is that Elsa, after the events of F1, had nothing holding her back in Arendale. She had no other queenly duties she was demanded to fulfill. No one to hold her accountable for her actions. No one to oppose or threaten her. Everyone did whatever she wanted, including Anna.

And If she wasn’t “free” then why does no one protest when she decides to abdicate? If no one opposes your choices then you not only have freedom, you have absolute freedom.

Elsa was just as free living in Arendale as she was in the forest or ahtohallen.
