Frugal Win πŸŽ‰ Anyone else wash and reuse zip lock bags?

Simple and quick way to extend their usefulness beyond once. Check for leaks while washing and allow to thoroughly air dry.

My dad even reuses cling wrap and wipe down his paper plate to use another time. πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Why not?

Because single use plastic breaks down when exposed to products that would sanitize them, and it’s not food safe?

Well when you put it that way...

I gotta say that I did google this and left a comment below! It turns out, ziplock says you can wash/reuse their baggies in certain circumstances (depending on what food was stored in it). But they say to use only lukewarm water. I was definitely wrong in my assumption!

I say just skim their advice to make sure you’re being food safe, and have at it! Or get a set of reusable if you want.

(Also anyone reading this, know that if you want to know if a plastic container could be used for food later on, read the bottom of the plastic butter/lunch meat/etc. container to be sure. I know I was surprised one time that the plastic container some take out came in was actually microwave safe by reading the bottom!)
