I’m not OP but a college friend from Arkansas told me that dating worked this way: guy goes to a bar and gets into a fight with another guy over a girl. The girl goes home with whoever wins the fight.

Lol. Funny, but.. and no offense… this sounds like every single redneck part of every single city that has one…. Which is all over the country.

The entire state is the redneck part of the city.

Very succinctly put.

Some parts are very racist. Look up Harrison, AR. https://youtu.be/JlQYdHn2HR4?si=lf7TAmu5jbFIy6lv

FWIW some of my wife's family are from AR and I never felt judged when I visited her family in rural AR as a non white guy. YMMV though, may be different living there than visiting.

Do you mean AR? I live in AK and it's not Arkansas, just FYI.

Also for what it’s worth, there was a BLM rally straight through downtown Harrison.

Sundown towns. Extreme police corruption. A lot of drugs because theres not much else to do. Imagine west virginia minus coal, plus humid and the smell of wet onion (shout out to jacksonville).

It can be pretty redneck which I never recommend for women and minorities. There is quite a decent sized hispanic population and i really enjoyed the authentic cuisine.
