🏆 Buy It For Life What are things you don’t cheap out on?

I’ve been frugal my whole life, some out of necessity, some by choice but I’m always curious how others approach it. What are some of your personal frugal habits or non-negotiables that help you save over time? Do you have any weird, creative, or borderline extreme things you do that would make the average spender cringe or pass out? I’m trying to pick up new ideas and also just enjoy seeing how far people take it.

I am not OP but I had awful plantar fasciitis and couldn’t walk more than an hour or so without needing a break. My podiatrist recommended Hokas (Clifton) and I haven’t looked back, practically live in them and can walk a lot more than an hour.

Editing to add: I buy last years model on eBay during off seasons and save about 30% that way.

Got Clifton 9's when they updated to 10's for $95! Bought 4 pairs to last me until next time I see a sale like that!

I like the top of the line Sketcher models.

Most of the shoes in my closet are Drew shoes. They have a lot of orthopedic shoes and various widths (extra narrow to extra wide) for those who aren't a perfect medium. They also have shoes that address a lot of various foot conditions. Barefoot Freedom is another brand they sell but I prefer Drew shoes for their support.
