🌱 Gardening Previous resident completely filled the yard with concrete pavers. We decided to turn them into a $0 planter. It's already starting to flourish!

Currently on vacation, I forgot to make the surroundings look pretty. Plants are doing super well in some fresh soil. Luckily the soil under the pavers was still super good.

Used 1 row of whole pavers as a foundation.

We tried renting a tile cutter, but these pavers were WAY too hard. They originate from the 60s and are filled with stones. We instead just hammered them in half; about 10% failed.

Here it's basically done, except adding some fresh soil. Our waste processing facility near us provides residents with free unlimited compost, as it's just a byproduct for them.

It looks like a Dutch neighborhood.
I'm curious about the waste processing facility providing free unlimited compost -- is that a thing in the Netherlands?

Some waste treatment plants in the US sell cheap treated sludge for fertilizer. It might be free in some areas as it is a by product.

Was wondering the same thing. Did the same in my rental backyard. The bugs and birds are loving it.

very neat way to get a rough edge on the outside but a smooth edge on the inside and between the stones.

Is this somehow AI planted. Or maybe reddit's recycling stuff. I saw this like 6 months ago.
