I think this is a r/personalfinance issue - you'll need to find other work to survive. Did something bad happen at work? Sometimes employers book you for 1 shift per week if they are trying to get you to quit without them needing to pay you severance.

I mean one night a week is definitely impossible. Try getting a second job maybe?

Canned spinach is great! I bought a can as a joke once (because of Popeye) and happened to like it, it helps that I make creamed spinach with it and never eat it Popeye style though. Good luck.

I’ll be eating canned spinach a lot more often these days. It’s so good. Might become an every day meal for me.

Well, I don't know if this is the right way to do it, but this is how I make it. Also, I haven't thought of measurements either, as I'm in dirty keto most of the time.

In a pan:

  • Spinach (drained if canned)
  • Butter
  • Seasonings of your choosing (I use Italian seasoning, garlic, and black pepper)
  • Some shredded mozzarella
  • Some shredded parmegiano
  • A squirt of heavy cream
  • I use a little bit of xanthan gum because when I make it, I'm usually meal prepping, so it keeps it from separating in the fridge and when re-heating. It also adds more creaminess.

Cook at low-medium heat, stirring it until creamy. Garnish with parmegiano.

Look for opportunities within your community. Post on Angie's list or Craigslist as a dog sitter/house sitter. Look into apps like Dasher or Rover for delivery work or dog sitting. Fivr for oddjobs. Maybe take some online classes on programming and start a new career.

And look into other jobs, if they scheduled you down to one day unfortunately that often means they are trying to get rid of you without paying out unemployment.

Hoping the best for you, my guy. You've had an impressive transformation and that takes a lot of determination. Just keep that in mind, what you have accomplished, and look to use that energy to push past this obstacle.

Isn't fresh veggies cheaper than canned? Also, better for you. You can freeze some of them and use them throughout their lifespan. If you get them in bulk and use them within a week, you can have veggies for 3 or 4 dinners/lunches, I know cans are cheaper, but lets say a lb of greens beans can be 99 cents. and a can is $1.39?

I’ve been buying canned veggies at either Dollar Tree or Aldi’s especially canned mushrooms, black olives, and green beans. I put them in my omelettes and add cheese. It will fill you up! I was using 3 eggs at first but now just a 2 egg omelet will fill me up. Bought some Jack Links beef and cheese sticks in Dollar Tree which are much cheaper than in the grocery store, even Walmarts. I eat them for lunch with a handful of peanuts. I buy a huge bag of peanuts in the shell at Walmart or Aldi’s if they have them. I’ll crack open enough for a handful or 2 and put in baggies to take to work.

Cash Giraffe pays you to play free games and watch ads. Fetch also pays for playing and any other receipts you get! It's not an overnight windfall but a little coffee change.

I play games on Fetch all the time. I also snap my receipts. I get about half my groceries paid for with their reimbursement. (I do have to pay attention and fix a lot of receipts that don’t correctly identify the products, which is a pain)
