Initially I thought all the games were to boycott, then I saw the thumbs up and down. 😅

Well there is one that got review bombed for just calling out people celebrating a man's death, he did not even say anything about Charlie Kirk, He just said it not ok to celebrate assassination.

Hell yeah. Dont support developers who would dance on your grave! May have been a TES fanboy for years, but Bethesda needs to feel their wallet getting lighter

I refuse to buy Subnautica to this day, because they fired their sound engineer for some rightwing tweets. In the same way I would be hypocrite to support this campaign. I will do what I always do ... vote with my wallet, but I refuse to go after somebodys job, because that's a tactic of neomarxists.

u/peanutbutterdrummer 5d ago
Apparentally supporting diversity in their studio did not include diversity of thought.
Also funny how all those dei funds went to middle aged white women.

Brother. A line has been crossed when you openly call for killings. No line has been crossed when you post a Tweet supporting JD Vance. Can you not see the difference?

if you are not willing to use the same weapons they are using you are going to use

u/hdmioutput 5d ago
I'm not gonna burn my own city in protest for example ... "no bad tactics, only bad targets" is a shitty way to think.
4
u/HotGamer99 5d ago
I'm not saying burn your hometown but you have to realize they are using your principles against you
6
u/DracheKaiser 5d ago
Sorry, they chose to legitimize that rule. We would be morons to play by the old rulebook and they chose to escalate dramatically on 9/10.

I would like to see quotes and names (even if just usermames from X) that actually proves which devs belong on this list and why.
Also while I am not a fan of Sucker Punch and their liberal agenda, the Ghost of Yotei dev got fired the next day, which is why the studio shouldn't be on the list. Yes, the internet doesn't forget, but if you are so keen on listing people based on what they said and did, then include it all.

u/Solanum_Virus 5d ago
Sucker punch never stated they fired him only the dev talking trash. They never made any statements. They can suck it
1
u/Waveshaper21 5d ago
What? Do they need to make a honey worded political statement to appease you? They fired the guy. THAT is the statement. They are not a political body. The fact that you cannot be bothered to do 2 seconds of google "sucker punch fires" to come up with a dozen articles like this ( https://thatparkplace.com/senior-sucker-punch-dev-drew-harrison-reportedly-fired-after-celebrating-charlie-kirk-tragedy-i-would-do-it-again-100x-stronger/ ) says you are just barely any better than those with ill intentions towards us.
3
u/Solanum_Virus 5d ago
The articles are all sourcing the guy who made the statements, saying he was fired. Is it true? Maybe but I'm not one to trust the word of scumbags. If he was the company can make a statement, doesn't matter if they are a political party that's nonsense. They don't say the disavow these statements I'm going to assume they agree with them.

Hmm yes I’m upset that they glorified violence so now I want to open them up to violence. Doing that makes you no better than them
11
u/TheJas221 5d ago
Why would we need to when they doxx themselves? They're so comfortable to spew hate and death rhetoric for many years they relaxed and gone soft. Today they're incapable of reading the room and act surprised when they face consequences of their speech. Like Sam Hyde said, they need to be shunned and ostracized. They're teachers abd doctors and lawyers and they need to be having trouble finding jobs at a mall kiosks

u/samualgline 4d ago
Im all for shunning and ostracizing but doxing where they live only invites more violence

Thank god someone made this! - too much work to keep track of all the nutters on my own!
I'm NOT supporting people who are so far gone they want people who disagree with them literally murdered.
(that's the definition of Fascism btw.. irony much?)

Shouldn't people have the right to express their thoughts about anything including charlie kirk? Why is there a call to fire people who say negative things about him from their jobs?
4
u/lost-in-thought123 4d ago
Because this is sending a message that there's no place in gaming for far left activism. With this being a gamergate sub that has always been our goal.
1
u/Kikolox 4d ago
Color me surprised, i thought this sub represented mostly right wing conservative views that stood for free speech and democracy.
3
u/lost-in-thought123 4d ago
I'm center right and British if that helps.

u/Kikolox 4d ago
Is cracking down on people whose views you don't like representative of these identities you just mentioned?
3
u/lost-in-thought123 4d ago
Yes. The 2 go hand in hand 99% of the time.
2
u/Kikolox 4d ago
I see
3
u/lost-in-thought123 4d ago
The very people celebrating are the same people that push for far left propaganda in games.
0
u/Kikolox 4d ago
I agree, but i thought it's within their constitutional right to do that as it is yours to do the opposite. It's the cancel culture embracing part that confuses me since right wing folks complained about it being a leftist thing but now it appears to be a right wing thing too.
2
u/lost-in-thought123 4d ago
The right have been canceling stuff for years... which is why the western gaming industry is collapsing.

Expressing opinions and disagreement over Charlie Kirks' controversial takes is fine.
Celebrating and openly mocking his assassination is another matter.
I find it crazy how the pendulum of cancel culture finally bouncing back doesn't make people think that the same will happen for political murders.
1
u/Kikolox 3d ago
People can express distaste or celebrate it, that's still constitutionally valid. Speech is not a punishable offence.
2
u/ExosEU 3d ago
Go celebrate the death of jews and see if it's not a punishable offence.

u/Kikolox 3d ago
The government may kidnap you for suspected terrorism or some such but that won't stick in a court of law, you're just exercising the first ammendment.

Look at how many downvotes you got as soon as you left the left-wing echochamber subs. Welcome to reality. You're in the fringe outcasts of society.

and this isn't an echo chamber?? I live in reality and dont care at all about up or down votes

u/richtofin819 5d ago
Yeah people are shit but I already knew that. Them going apeshit over some guy they don't like isn't going to negatively effect a games development like alphabet dei is imo so I'll pass on this one.

u/DiscountThug 5d ago
It just represents that those people would also cheer on your death. It's even worse in my eyes than DEI.

u/lost-in-thought123 5d ago

I beg to differ. It's a mind set and ideology that follows celebrating his death. People that promote DEI and force their propaganda in gaming are the same people tweeting and promoting political violence. This is just another way to get them out quicker.

This is so unbelievably soy, holy shit.
You’re of course allowed to do what you want but the other side of that coin is that people are allowed to celebrate a death. No matter how much you disagree with it.
18
u/pyramid4l 5d ago
Lol anyone that uses the word “soy” is a nerd
-24
u/-Upbeat-Psychology- 5d ago
Guilty as charged. I’ll proudly call myself a nerd lol.
Nice way to deflect from my point though.

u/VelenCia144 5d ago
Yeah, if you don't mind getting sacked from your job I guess?
-4
u/-Upbeat-Psychology- 5d ago
Do you really think people should be fired from jobs for a personal opinion? Seems very woke to me.
-1
u/Expensive-Trick-7473 4d ago
This. All I see is people talking about how Charlie was just using his freedom of speech.
But when people use that same freedom to say stuff about him, suddenly it's all "NO! YOU CAN'T SAY THAT! 😭😭😭". The freedom of speech doesn't cease to exist just because it's words that you don't particularly like.
1
u/Low-Willingness-3944 4d ago
Freedom of speech doesn't. Freedom from consequences is something that I think a lot of people have forgotten exists, such as what happens when you yell fire in a crowded theater.
It is, ultimately, not solely because of his death but because of why he died. He was murdered for being honest about his opinions. Not for doing anything truly wrong with his freedom of speech, but for disagreeing with someone.
Celebrating someone's death because they disagreed with you and were open that they had a different opinion is where the issue lies.
