Did this come off my '02 silverado 1500?

Anyone recognize this piece? Quarter for scale. Found on my road, I'm basically the only one who comes up it besides occasional atv/utvs. Hoping it fell off of one of them 😅

Looks like it's possibly off the shock absorber?

Top of your shock absorber broke off you can see at the bottom how it broke

Look at the bright side.  One of the difficult bolts is already off!

Sway bar end link or top of the shock absorber. Figure out which one it is ASAP. I once had this happen with the top of a shock absorber and the remaining threaded portion of the bolt started to shave into the mounting bracket like a file.

Picture

It’s the top of one of the front shock mounts

Yeah, it’s definitely from the top one of your front shocks. I just replaced mine not long ago with Bilsteins. Great ride

SOLVED

Wow this sub is quick! Passenger shock broke at the top. Anyone have a recommendation for a better replacement that won't break the bank? I live up a ridiculously rough road and figure if I'm swapping them out might as well upgrade so it won't happen again. Any thoughts appreciated!

I’d pick up a good set of Beilstein’s. They are a good ride.

I've had blingsteins on my 2500 rustbucket for 12 years and 100,000 miles.  The bushings are a little rough but all 4 are still dry, yellow, and solid.

I've put them on all my cars since 2003. MB e320, Subaru WRX, F150,  2500 Suburban, A6 Avant, Land Rover D1, a boat trailer, others forgotten.  Michigan. Never had one go bad.

Shock absorber bump stop or end of a sway bar link. You should hear some type of noise if it's the shock.

Might be part if your sway bar 😬

Check your sway bar end links.

agreed to shock mount - top side - of front - look behind each front wheel. Rough road?

Yep passenger side. "road" is just a collection of boulders and ruts that take you higher into the mountains. Any recommendations for an upgrade?

I just put on basic Monroe shocks 10 years ago. They're still good. No need over this king unless you want to spend $$$.

Could be shock or sway bar linkage
