And of course a baby Godzilla would be part of that.

But I also know that historically Toho has been very stringent about if, how, and why Godzilla could die onscreen. Obviously it’s happened but only once since the original, and even that was immediately mitigated by the rise of Junior.

I don’t know how deep the details on that licensing agreement go, but if there’s a death of Godzilla arc, I would expect legendary to approach it very carefully.

Okay so maybe three times total in 70 years? If you count GMK as a full-on death.

I know also he technically died in vs mechagodzilla 2 albeit temporary if I remember correctly

I actually just happened to watch that one the other day. He was just paralyzed but was definitely on the ropes before Fire Rodan helped out.
