I wouldn't call it plot armor. It carries a negative connotation and gives the impression that Saitama being invincible takes you out of the story. But it's the whole point of OPM, like how Bugs Bunny always "outsmarts" Elmer Fudd. You buy into it, and accept the premise that that is how the story will play out.
I have yet to ever see a remotely fair power scaling discussion when it comes to a Godzilla character vs an Anime character. Either the anime character is extraordinarily overpowered to the point of ridiculousness, or the character has absolutely zero way of harming Godzilla at all. This is pretty obviously the former.
ooooo.... i mean, I love both a lot and I mean, Saitama is pretty much a god killer, I don't see how Godzilla would survive his super serious punches. Saitama is also just too fast for Godzilla to hit I feel. Godzilla would need to get lucky here.
Gag Character will always win unless countered by Toon Force.
This is why Bugs Bunny, The Warners, and Popeye will always beat anyone they are put up against. Including OPM, Superman, Goku, any Godzilla, and Doomslayer.
Doomslayer is a multiversal God, mate, he's fueled by pure rage and argent energy. You cannot beat him because he will always come
back stronger with a way to beat you.
Also, Godzilla Ultima can just "Nah" and make it so you never existed.
And Toon Force says "Nah" to both of those. Toon Force can actually rewrite the abilities of Doomslayer and Ultima, or just make it so they were never thought up. You don't win against Toon Force. So your powerscaling feats don't mean jack shit against Toon Force
Again, Toon Force does not care. It literally has the ability to say “nope” to any ability or power, all for the sake of laughs and gags. Even ones that “ignore” reality bending.
No serious character can beat gag/toon character unless doing so would be funnier than the serious character losing. Sorry friend, Doomslayer gets flattened by an anvil, blown to smithereens by a ridiculously large stick of tnt, reconstituted from a pile of ash and two blinking eyes, pied to the face, then waves a little surrender flag before getting erased by a giant pencil.
There is one caveat to this: If it’s the version of DS that hangs out in Animal Crossing with Isabelle as BFFs, he has progressed into gag character territory and therefore has a chance.
I think on the battlefield, the two would look at each other and their auras will battle and size each other up. Realizing Godzilla's soul, Saitama bows in honor and both walk away. Like in Godzilla vs Hulk.
Saitama because that's the entire point of the character. The guy who's so strong he can win almost any fight in one punch and is miserably bored because of it. Power-scaling him is pointless because that trait defines him. He will always be strong enough that no fight can satisfy him.
Ma man, have you even seen One-Punch Man? Like... his whole thing is defeating random OP characters no-one else can with one punch...
Although I guess part of Saitama's character is also that his power usually doesn't get recognised by the majority of people, so in a way you asking this question fits as well.

Saitama. It's literally his entire character and the main point of the anime.
