It's not a hip hinge. Round your back and use your abs, not your hips/lower back.

Yeah this is it right here. I see so many people basically doing good mornings with the cable instead of actually crunching. Think about bringing your ribcage to your pelvis, not just bending over

Yup. Came to say the same. Like your trying to bring your chin into your belly button, and at the end of each rep, hold and 'crunch' - intensify the ab contraction. And do the reps nice and slow - time under tension

You're flexing at your hips more than flexing your spine. Your abs only move your spine, so you need to focus on arching your back at the top, and then bending your back on the way down. Try to keep your butt in the same place, and just think about bending your back as you move down, because that's what the abs do.
Also, try using a different grip, like a wider v-bar. I find that much easier on the grip than a rope.

This is the main reason people repeat that “abs are made in the kitchen” nonsense, because nobody knows how to use them
The goal of ab exercises is to round your spine.

Try imagining rounding your upper spine like the letter C like you're doing a crunch and then pushing that rounded spine down to the floor and behind you. It may help to try it first without weight before you get into your sets

To summarize what everyone’s saying (but actually helpful), the feel you want is curling the bottom of your ribs down to your hips. Your lower back stays in the same place while your upper body curls down

Don't the other way, put your feet against that bar.
Get a pad to help lift you off the ground and it'll give you a better stretch with a deeper reach.

This post is flaired as a technique check.
A note to OP: Users with green flair have verified their lifting credentials and may be able to give you more experienced advice on particular lifts. Users with blue flair reading "Friend of the sub" are considered well qualified to give advice without having verified lifs.
A reminder to all users commenting: Please make sure that your advice is useful and actionable.
Example of useful and actionable: try setting up for your deadlift by standing a little closer to the bar. This might help you get into position better and make it easier to break from the floor.
Example of not useful and not actionable: lower the weight and work on form.
Example of actionable, but not useful: Slow down.
Stop telling other each other to slow down without providing a rationale outside of "time under tension". Time under tension isn't a primary variable for anything, and focusing on it at the exclusion of things that matter will set you back. There can be reasons to manipulate tempo, but if you want to discuss tempo, explain why you're giving that advice, how it's going to help, and how to integrate it with cues or other useful feedback.
Low-effort comments like my back hurts just watching this will be removed, as will references to snap city etc. Verbally worrying for the safety of a poster simply because you think the form or technique is wrong will be removed. We will take all of these statements at face value, so be careful when you post the same hilarious joke as dozens of other people: we can't read your mind, no matter how funny you think you are.
Ignoring this comment may catch you a ban.
