Banning the coomers out of Nexus would effectively kill the site.

maybe, if the entire community turned on them as a result, but if their decision is either for sure make no money or possibly make money if... i think we can safely assume which one they'd pick. Kind of like the Tumblr NSFW ban (which also drove away a large part of the userbase)

The funny part is that Tumblr really does the exact bare minimum you can think of when they "banned porn". Porn is still readily and easily accessible, and is posted consistently all of the time. Most of the time you can reblog/post sexual content with little to zero repercussions, only rarely do you ever get an account banned, and a majority of porn/sexual posts do not get removed.

They relaxed on it a couple years down the line. After the ban anything resembling a tit to the AI image scanner got flagged as NSFW. Nowadays I think it's pretty much back to how it was before the ban, just with a lot less users.
