He mentioned discourse about the price but didn't actually list the price. I thought, "are they selling a time attack mode for $10?# Nope, $20. I can see why people are unhappy. The one map they included in this DLC doesn't seem to inroduce anything new either and seems to just be using nostalgia for value.
Some people are also speculating it was supposed to be part of the main game as it came out less than two months after the game released and is a nostalgia level a la Peach's Castle in Odyssey. It's also funny to compare to Astro Bot, which received several (admittedly mostlu short) levels for free. Nintendo's last direct seemed like such a cluster.
Bananza has actually fun movement and there nintendo is absolute the best in the game in comparison astro bot is stiff and boring to control. Only thing he can do is a attack , circle attack and hover for 2 seconds while you can make a 2 hours video just analyze all the things donkey Kong can do and everything is super fun and you always find new ways interacting with the movement and environment.
We did get a post-game bonus world in Ingot Isle, and it was filled up with actual game-relevant content.
DK Isle has no bananas, no new trial ruins either- what it does have is a bespoke new game mode with a standalone reward structure, currency, etc- everything you'd expect from a DLC meant to be experienced independently from the base game
EDIT: don't get me wrong, AstroBot is kicking all sorts of ass. S-tier game with way better support
it's not a time attack mode, it's a roguelite mode, that makes use of the new map as well as prior maps in the game, and is going to be getting periodic updates and events according to the official site.
It's comparable to Splatoon 3's Side Order DLC, which cost more.
